Adam Wade Gontier is an award-winning rock star whose achievements in the music industry speak volumes. The Canadian singer functions as an instrumentalist, as well as a songwriter. He was the lead singer and guitarist of the popular Canadian rock band, Three Days Grace which started in 1997 in Norwood, Ontario. Gontier left the rock band in 2013 and took up a similar role shortly after that in Canadian-American rock band, Saint Asonia.

Adam Wade Gontier’s Biography
The popular rock star was born on May 25, 1978, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, but was raised by his parents, Gordon Gontier and Patricia Duffy in Markam area of Ontario. Gontier was enrolled in Adam Scott Collegiate and Vocational Institute and Intermediate School, a middle school situated in his hometown of Peterborough. Following the divorce of his parents, he relocated to Norwood in Ontario where he was admitted in the Norwood District High School. It was while at Norwood that he met Brad Waist and Neil Sanderson who would later become fellow members of the Three Days Grace rock band.
In 2005, Gontier was admitted into the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) located in Toronto, Canada following a mental breakdown he suffered. It was while in rehabilitation that he began writing songs for One-X and some personal songs. A documentary in the form of drama detailing his addiction and life in rehab was produced in 2007. Some of the songs he wrote include Never Too Late, Pain, Get Out Alive and Animal I Have Become.
In 2006, the talented guitarist joined the Canadian rock band Big Dirty Band playing alongside the likes of Alex Lifeson, Jeff Burrows, Care Failure and a couple of other musicians. The group was famous for doing a movie soundtrack for Trailer Park Boys. Five years down the line, 2011 to be precise, Adam Wade Gontier started his own musical record label which he called Sludge Factory Records signing Before the Curtain, a band from his hometown.
Adam Wade Gontier left Three Days Grace on January 9, 2013, and in 2015, he signed up with Saint Asonia, a Canadian-American rock band, as its rhythm guitarist. In the same year that he joined the supergroup, their debut album titled Saint Asonia was released.
Gontier’s musical career has seen him feature and collaborate with several other musicians, rock bands and songwriters. Some of the notable musicians he has collaborated with include Ian Thornley, Ben Burnley, Shaun Morgan, Kevin Brown, Kim Brown, Grainne Ryan, and Max Martin. He has featured alongside famous American rock band, Daughtry and fellow Canadian rock band, Art of Dying. Adam’s cousin, Cale Gontier, happens to be the bass guitarist of Art of Dying band.
Gontier has also done shows and concerts this time around as a solo artist. He has released several solo songs also and in March 2013, he did his first solo live tour which he called Adam Gontier Solo Live Tour. The talented vocalist and songwriter is a recipient of Big Time Award which he got in 2012 at Wire Awards and also a two-time recipient of the prestigious Broadcast Music Inc. Pop Awards.

The Peterborough native is currently married to Jeanie Marie Gontier. He was previously married in 2004 to Naomi Faith Brewer until the marriage was dissolved in 2013. Ms. Brewer is known to have co-written and made appearances in some of Adam’s songs. Jeanie and Adam have a son together which they have managed to keep out of the public.
