Addie is an American journalist, US Army officer, and Iraqi war veteran who garnered vast attention for revealing details of her affair with the former NBC Today Show host, . The US Army veteran was born as Addie Arlene Zinone on the 15th day of April 1976 in the United States. Born into an American family, Addie spent her early years in Barrackville, West Virginia.
She completed her basic education in Barackville and went to Temple University. There, she bagged a degree in broadcast journalism; this was in 2008. The following year (2009), she joined the Temple University’s School of Communications and Theatre.
Addie Zinone’s journalism career took off in the year 2000 after she left the university and she first worked as an intern at NBC. During that time, she appeared in Today Show as well as NBC News Show. After she completed her internship, Zinone was elevated to the position of a production assistant, a position she held before being promoted to an anchor on NBC’s West Virginia affiliate. It was during her stay in the network that Addie’s affair with Matt Lauer happened.
She would later join the US Army where she started basic training in March 2002. After her training, she became a military journalist and was deployed to Iraq in November 2003. There, she covered stories about US soldiers in Iraq. She returned to the United States in November 2004 but then, embarked on her second deployment in 2008. During her military service, she rose to the rank of staff sergeant and worked as a public affair soldier. Amazingly, she was honored as the Army Reserve Broadcast Journalist of the Year 2007. In addition to that, she received the Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal for her outstanding performances.

Addie Zinone has had a strong backbone who always motivates her to push on. He is no other than her caring husband and the father of her children, Greg Zinone. Born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, Greg was once a footballer; he played as a defensive end while at West Virginia University. The couple began their relationship sometime in 2004 after Addie returned from her first Iraq mission. They courted for over two years and in May 2007, they sealed their love formally.
Her marriage with Greg has produced two children named Hudson and Hartley. She and her family now reside in Newport Beach, California.

Affair With Matt Lauer
Although it’s been over 18 years since the affair between Addie and Matt happened, it was in November 2017 that the story flooded the tabloids. Addie made this revelation just two weeks after Matt’s employment with NBC News was terminated following reports of his alleged sexual harassment of an unidentified female reporter at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
According to Addie Zinone, they had the affair in the year 2000 when she was working at NBC News. She said Matt took an interest in her and invited her to lunch on many occasions. The duo had their first consensual encounter in an abandoned dressing room in June 2000 and later on, during the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles, they had another encounter in a bathroom.
While all these transpired, Matt was still married to his second wife, Annette Roque, a Dutch model whom he married in 1998. Though what they had was consensual, Addie said it amounted to an abuse of power on Matt’s part.
Life After Her Military Service
Since she left the army, the Iraqi war veteran has been doing well for herself. She now owns and manages her own clothing line called Sideline Candy. She began her company in 2016 and according to her, the business was created to celebrate, empower, and encourage moms who spend countless hours on the sidelines. Thus far, her company is doing very well and she spends more of her time working as the CEO.
