Alisyn was born on June 21, 1966, in Washington, USA and even though she is an American national, she has dual ethnicity – American and Italian. Work and Career – CNN and Fox News
Before making her break into the big media outfits, she had worked in Boston for WHDH, and in Washington DC for WTTG. She also spent some time with Koppel Communications, working on Ted Koppel’s primetime documentaries.
Her Days at Fox News
Alisyn Camerota joined the Fox network in February 1998 as a correspondent for the Boston division of the network. In addition to reporting on a couple of top stories, she contributed majorly to its affiliate service, Fox News Edge.
By October 2007, she had started a personal blog, In The Greenroom, on the Fox & Friends page – a page on Fox News Channel’s website. In November of the same year, she started a show for Fox & Friends tagged ‘After the Show Show’. This was only showing on the internet and featured top anchors of Fox & Friends like , , and Steve Doocy. Though an internet-only show, it was still a live show.
While she was running the After the Show Show, she was hosting America’s Newsroom on the cable channel. She was also appearing on the Friday edition of Fox & Friends 1st. Camerota has also made guest appearances on Red Eye w/Greg Gutfeld, a Fox News’ late-night satire show.
Camerota was transferred to the New York center of Fox News in September 2013. There she co-hosted America’s News Headquarters with veteran journalist, . A few months later, she announced the end of her 16-year relationship with Fox News, on the 14th of March, 2014.
Moving to CNN
Four months after calling it quits with Fox News, she was brought aboard to join the CNN News team. The announcement was made by CNN and CNN International on July 14, 2014. At the time of the announcement, there was no specific role assigned to her, though it was said she was going to be contributing to all programs across CNN at the time. She had her first shot co-anchoring CNN’s New Day on July 25, 2014. She got another shot on August 25, 2014. In 2015, following ’s maternity leave, Alisyn was made a permanent anchor of the New Day.
In 2017, she opened up to the major reason that prompted her to quit Fox News. She accused former Fox News CEO, of sexually harassing her.
