He is worth all that because he banks as a business tycoon, co-founder of Home Depot, owner of Atlanta United (a soccer club) and Atlanta Falcons (a franchise in the NFL).
His company – Home Depot, has given a substantial amount of wealth as a part of its social corporate responsibility to communities and non-profit organizations. Arthur has an American nationality and comes from a lineage that is undoubtedly Jewish which makes his ethnicity to be white, he joined the Jewish family of Molly and Max Blank on September 27, 1942, in Flushing, New York. His dad, Max, earned a living working as a pharmacist, Arthur was brought-up alongside his older brother Michael Blank.
Before his business mogul status was attained, Arthur Blank acquired his basic education at Stuyvesant High School located in New York City. To further his education, he joined Babson College where he bagged an Accounting and Business Administration degree under three years, graduating in 1963. He proceeded to Compton University where he was awarded an honorary degree.
Career
After his graduation, his career commenced in 1965 when he was employed by Arthur Young and Company in the capacity of a senior accountant. After a while, he moved over to Daylin Corporation where he ascended to the rank of president of Elliott’s Drug Stores/Stripe Discount Stores – a division under the parent company of Daylin. Arthur had to move over to Handy Dan Home Improvement Centers after that arm of Discount Stores was sold off.
At Handy Dan, Arthur Blank met his future business partner Bernard Marcus who was working as the CEO of Handy Dan. Arthur worked as the vice president in charge of finance but when they eventually lost their jobs in 1978, both Arthur and Marcus joined their resources together to launch Home Depot.
Between New York investment banker Ken Langone (who took the job of assembling the first set of investors) and merchandising pundit Patrick Farrah (who aided both business owners in realizing their vision of one-stop shopping for the do-it-yourselfer), the company took off on a good foot. With its warehouse concept, it grew to revolutionize the concept of home improvement.
Consequently, both founders were turned into billionaires in no time, Arthur Blank succeeded Marcus as the CEO of the company after 19 years as president. He retired as a co-chairman in the year 2001.
After hanging up his boots, Arthur Blank wasn’t tired at all. He purchased the franchise of National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons in February 2002 and showed interest in acquiring more but later founded soccer franchise – Atlanta United F.C.
Presently, the accomplished business tycoon is a member of the board of trustees of Emory University, he functions as the chairman of AMB Group LLC, the parent company of Atlanta United and the Falcons FC and also serves in the Arthur Blank Family Foundation as the substantial chairman.

He later married Stephanie V. Blank in 1995, a native of North Carolina and an alumnus of Appalachian State University. Before their divorce in 2013, their union produced three children; Max, Joshua, and Kylie Blank.

The accomplished businessman met his current wife Macuga at a soccer league game which her kids and Arthur’s son, Joshua played in.
