Brian Tee is one actor in the American film industry whose profile has been on a steady rise since he debuted in the industry in the year 2000. His most successful work so far can still be attributed to The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006); a crime and action film where he played the role of Takashi “D.K.” But aside this, there are a lot of other films and movies he has notably featured in which you will find out more about here. For a start, did you know that the name Brian Tee is not even his birth name?

Brian Tee’s Bio, Age

He is a Korean-Japanese-American actor who was born of a Korean-American mother with a permanent residency in Japan and a Japanese-American father, the names of his parents have not been ascertained at this time. He was born on March 15, 1977, in Okinawa Prefecture, the southernmost Prefecture of Japan and named Jaebeom Takata.

After his second birthday, Jaebeom’s family relocated to Hacienda Heights, California where he was subsequently raised in Southern California. The would-be actor attended Glen A. Wilson High School where he played football, captained his school’s football team and also showed leadership qualities as he was the Associated Student Body president. He equally worked at Blackjack Pizza at this time.

Following the completion of his high school education, Takata enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley to study and subsequently bagged a degree in theater and performing arts from the institution. After his college graduation and like all other actors and actresses, Jaebeom began pursuing his career in earnest, seeking for roles in films. At one time, a Korean director outrightly denied him a spot for an audition because of his Japanese last name – Takata. For this, he then decided to adopt Brian Tee as his stage name which is in every sense culturally obscure.

Brian made his acting debut on The Pretender (2000) as a male agent in the episode: “The Agent of Year Zero,” he also appeared in other television series as Cpl. Thom Kobe in Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation (2004), Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 (2005-2008) as Sushi Rox, Eddie Choi in Crash, a 2008 series and a couple of other works at the beginning of his now burgeoning acting career.

In 2014, he appeared on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Toshiro Mori in episode: “A Fractured House,” Ben Rogers on Lucifer (2018) in episode: “Once Upon a Time” and currently plays on Chicago Med (2015-present) as Dr. Ethan Choi ju.

The films he has starred in include We Were Soldiers (2002) as Pfc. Jimmy Nakayama, The Wolverine (2013) as Noburo Mori, Jurassic World (2015) as Hamada and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016) as Oroku Saki/The Shredder with more to come.

Net Worth

Brian Tee has certainly seen good times in his relatively young acting career. He is still on the rise and with a couple of would-be commercially successful works to come his way, the actor’s net worth of about $4 million will certainly increase proportionately if not in geometric terms.

Family: Wife

The Korean Japanese American actor off movie locations spends quality time with his family. He is married to the gorgeous Mirelly Taylor who is a Mexican-American actress and mother to their daughter Madelyn Skyler (MadSky) Tee who was born on August 10, 2015. Brian described their daughter as an old soul who has been teaching himself and his wife how to be gentle, he opined that their child is patient, acts mature, has her own mind and doesn’t necessarily cry.

From what we know about Mirelly Taylor, she was born to Mexican parents in Mexico but relocated to Texas at the age of 11. In Texas, she attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas and later Southern Methodist University. Mirelly made her professional acting debut in the year 2001 and has since then made notable appearances in films and television series like Serving Sara (2002) a romantic comedy film as Ruth Osuna, American drama series Numb3rs (2005), Lost (2014) as Isabella Alpert and Nestor Carbonell (dual role) in its last series and many others.
