Brice Butler is an NFL player currently playing for the Arizona Cardinal as a wide receiver. His NFL career began in 2013 after he was picked by the Oakland Raiders in the 7th round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
He has also played for Dallas Cowboys. In his almost five seasons with Oakland and Dallas, Butler has appeared in sixty-one games and started seven of them.
Brice Butler – Biography
Brice was born in Norcross, Georgia on the 29th day of January 1990. He started playing the game of American football from his days at Norcross, Georgia. The kid played as a wide receiver. In his junior year, he recorded thirty-five interceptions for 680 yards, that is 19.4 in average, with nine touchdowns.
In 2007, he won several awards and honors like the Prep Star All-American, Super Prep Elite 50, ESPN 150, Prep Star Dream Team, Prep Star All-Southeast, Super Prep All-Dixie, Atlanta Journal-Constitution Super Southern 100 and Super Prep All-American.
As a senior, he made a total of 1,186 receiving yards with fifteen touchdowns. Brice Butler was also fantastic on tracks and field events and represented his school in several competitions. Brice took part in the 4 × 100 m relays at a state competition after which he made the 7th position finishing at a record time of 42.54 seconds. He also participated in Region 7-5A Meet, leading his team to victory in a 4 × 400 m relay that ended in 3:22.82 minutes.
As a junior, Brice Butler recorded his personal-best times of 22.7 seconds in a 200-meter dash and 50.33 seconds in a 400-meter dash. After high school, he got a scholarship offer from the University of Southern California (USC), which he accepted and played for the school football team.
As a freshman, Brice Butler recorded twenty receptions for 292 yards and two touchdowns for which he earned the Pac-10 All-Freshman honor. During his next 3 years with the team, he played as a backup wide receiver starting four games and making forty-one receptions for 554 yards and three touchdowns.
After bagging a degree in public policy, management and planning in 2011, Butler transferred to San Diego State University to play his final season and to also run a master’s degree program. At San Diego, he recorded twenty-four receptions for 347 yards and four touchdowns.
NFL Career
Brice Butler was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the 7th round of the 2013 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he played ten games, recording nine receptions for one hundred and seven (107) yards. The following year, he made twenty-one receptions for 280 yards and 2 touchdowns.
In 2015, he got traded to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 5th round pick for DeAndre Washington. His most productive game that season came in week 16, a game against the Buffalo Bills, where he recorded four receptions for seventy-four yards. At the end of the season, Brice played seven games and made a total of twelve receptions for 258 yards.
In 2017, the Cowboys re-signed him to a one year contract. That season, he missed three games after sustaining a foot injury during a practice match. Nevertheless, he had already recorded 207 receiving yards and Two touchdowns in his first five games. He finished that season playing thirteen games and making a total of fifteen receptions for 317 yards and three touchdowns. In April 2018, Brice Butler signed a 2-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals
His Family
Brice was born in Norcross, Georgia on the 29th day of January 1990 to Robert Calvin Butler and Cyrillyn Butler. He is one of the four sons born to his parents. His brothers are; Brenton, Brelan, and Brandel.
