In New York, She joined the CNN team that covered the unveiling of the space shuttle, December 2004 Asian tsunami disaster, shooting of Virginia Tech, The Russian school hostage crisis, Ohio midterm elections, and the hurricanes Charley, Ivan, Frances, and Jeanne.
On the long run, Carol developed the reputation of an adventurous reporter and thus, has had interviews with four presidents to her credit. She interviewed Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and George H.W. Bush. It is also possible that she was involved in the coverage of their inaugurations.
