You might rightfully refer to him as an American singer, songwriter, record producer and a leader of Christian worship songs who has ministered in almost every continent of the world but Antartica. In his own words, Don Moen sees himself as an architect who designs products and events that will help people experience God in a new and fresh way. With this, one can easily tell why he is one of the greatest of his time and there is obviously no saying how far he will still go to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ through his song ministrations.
While you might already know a lot about the American worship leader’s career as a gospel musician, little to nothing is publicly known about his life outside the music stage. Nevertheless, we have gathered a handful of information about his bio, family life and net worth which you will find below. Included is also are a complete list of his albums and songs.
Don Moen’s Biography, Age
Donald James “Don” Moen, the American worship leader whose name (Don Moen) is ordinarily synonymous with Christian music was born on the 29th of June 1950 into a White-American family that had their abode in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was in Minneapolis that he grew up, attended high school and graduated in the year 1968 before moving over to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to study at Oral Roberts University; a Christian liberal arts school. Subsequently, he graduated with a degree in music in the year 1972.
At the college, Don Moen’s musical talents caught the attention of Terry Law who encouraged him to join his worship team called the Living Sound. The group traveled throughout Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people. With the group, Moen played the guitar, trombone and later began doing music productions for their ministrations. It was in the course of doing all these that he encountered first hand, the power of God coming into people’s lives through praise and worship, setting spiritually enslaved people free and opening closed doors in their lives, setting them on the path of a new beginning.
In the course of time and precisely in the year 1984, the head of Integrity Media – Michael Coleman hired him to work for his corporation. While working with the Christian focused music group, his career soared the more as he grew to become creative director and president of Integrity Music, president of Integrity Label Group, and an executive producer of Integrity Music albums. For the 20 years he was with them, Don Moen produced 11 volumes of the Hosanna! Music worship albums, which became the group’s most successful recording ever.
Nevertheless, whatever has a beginning must definitely have an end and by December 2007, the end of his time with Integrity Media came. He left and formed The Don Moen Company which acquired MediaComplete as it kicked off. He has since then, gone on to release soul lifting albums and songs under his own record label.
Looking back to when he started, Don Moen actually released his first album – Worship with Don Moen, under his own name in the year 1992. In the course of his career, the man whose songs have healed many broken and sorrowful hearts has at various times worked with men and women of similar calling like Paul Baloche, Martin J. Nystrom, Randy Rothwell, Nigerian born Frank Edwards and many others. In the light of this, Moen is also a recipient of many awards like Song of the Year “God Will Make A Way” in 1992, Creator – Musical of the Year Emmanuel Has Come in 1999 and Country Recorded Song of the Year “God Is Good All the Time” in 2003, all from Dove Awards.
