Revered among fashionistas, Donatella Versace is an icon in the world of fashion and has dressed a myriad of Hollywood’s creme de la creme to rave reviews.
The name Versace can easily be linked to fashion and is widely recognized by arguably everyone in the world, including those who have been living under a rock. The iconic Italian fashion designer was right beside her brother Gianni Versace when he launched his own fashion company in Milan, Italy. She took care of putting together several fashion shows and advertising campaigns to boost the publicity of the company.
Donatella was so dear to her brother that he dedicated a perfume line called Blonde to her and also gave her a personal label known as Versus in the 1980s. Unfortunately, things went south for the company after Gianni was murdered on 15 July 1997. The renowned fashion icon was shot dead on the steps of his Miami Beach mansion at the age of 50.
Post-Gianni’s Death
As a result of his death Donatella Versace became the creative director of the Versace Group and in a tough attempt to rebuild the brand and save it from its crumbling state, she channeled her inner public relations expert, using the image of celebrities who are her friends to sell their brand to the public. This helped in turning things around for the dwindling company as celebrities like , Elton John and a slew of others became associated with the company. Additionally, she used top models for their runway, getting the attention she needed from the media.
Currently, Donatella Versace is the vice president of the Versace Group and doubles as its chief designer and also owns a 20% share of the business. She has equally become very famous around the world, especially among fashion lovers and when she is not creating some mind-blowing designs for some celebrity, the fashion mogul is throwing lavish parties for her celebrity entourage. She has become quite popular for these parties which sees some high profile personalities like Prince Charles, , Liz Hurley and in attendance.
It is important to note that under her watch, the Versace brand has explored the fashion horizon, expanding to other parts like accessories, perfumes and even home furnishings which can be found in some expensive hotel rooms in Dubai and Australia.
Donatella Versace’s Daughter, Son, Husband (Paul Beck)
She has been married twice, first, she married Manuel Dallori but the union was rather shortlived – from 2004 to 2005. She later married American model Paul Beck with whom she shares two children – Allegra Versace Beck (daughter) who was born on 30 June 1986 and Daniel Versace (son) born in 1989. While the couple got married in 1983, divorce came calling in 2000 and they went their separate ways. Seemingly, Donatella seems to be single as at the time of this report.
Allegra inherited 50% of the entire stock of Versace from her late dotting uncle Gianni Versace who was very close to his nieces and nephews before his sudden demise. Among all his relatives, Gianni shared a special bond with his niece, Allegra, and it didn’t come as a surprise when he left half of his wealth for her. Donatella’s daughter is also living under the spotlight and serves as a patron of the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Notwithstanding, she doesn’t seem to love the limelight as many would speculate; she actually said she doesn’t like the idea of celebrity.
Allegra’s net worth is an eye-popping $800 million, a fortune she primarily amassed from her demised uncle who left her half of his empire’s worth.
Net Worth: How Rich is Donatella Versace?
Considering the fact that her young daughter Allegra is a whopping $800 million rich, it seems safe to conclude that her mother, Donatella Versace who is the face of the world-class brand and the brain behind the designs produced by the brand for the past 20 years, is worth twice as much. Nevertheless, it will shock you to realize that she only has an estimated net worth of $200 million to her name.
Now, don’t get it twisted, Donatella’s fortune is a hair-raising one but her daughter is just lucky to have a doting uncle who left her half of his fortune and split the rest among his siblings. Donatella got 20% while his brother Santo got the other 30%.
