Pedro Pascal’s Early Years

Like we have mentioned earlier, Pedro Pascal is a Chilean national. The actor was born in Santiago, the capital city of Chile on the 2nd of April 1975. It is noteworthy that even though he is now widely known as Pedro Pascal, his full birth name is José Pedro Balmaceda Pascal.

Our investigation has shown that Pascal has Spanish roots from a Basque grandfather and Majorcan grandmother. Also, we know that the actor did not grow up in Chile, the place of his birth because shortly after he was born, he relocated to the USA with his parents.

Who are His Parents?

Pedro Pascal was born to a father called José Balmaceda and a mother identified as Verónica Pascal. According to our sources, Pascal’s dad works as a fertility doctor and his mom is a child psychologist. Before he was born, Pascal’s parents were involved in an opposition movement against the brutal regime of Augusto Pinochet, a Chilean dictator at the time.

As a result of this, their lives were put in danger and so, soon after Pedro Pascal’s birth, they were granted political asylum in Denmark.  However, his parents eventually relocated to the U.S.A., where Pedro Pascal consequently grew up in California and Texas. The actor is very fond of his parents, who have also been very supportive of his career over the years.

He Has a Brother Who is Also a Thespian

Pedro Pascal is not an only child; he grew up with a younger brother named Lucas Balmaceda. Just like Pedro, Lucas is also an actor in Chile. Pedro Pascal’s Foray into Acting

Before he delved into acting, Pedro Pascal wanted to be a swimmer. As a child, he took so much interest in swimming that he got actively involved in competitive swimming and stunned observers with his skills. During this time, he competed in the state championships in Texas, when he was just 11 years old.

Pedro Pascal was in love with swimming, but he immediately stopped competing as a swimmer after he got into drama class and found out it was what he wanted to do.
