The Dolan Twins, on the other hand, have been able to catch and maintain the interest of millions of young people all over the world today. They are popular for consistently posting hilarious videos on YouTube.
They are young, driven, talented and definitely easy on the eyes. As proof of how influential they are as social media stars, they have won several awards, including the YouTuber of the year, Choice Comedian and Choice Web Star: Male.
Birth And Background Details of The Dolan Twins
The very identical twins Grayson and Ethan came into the world on the 16th of December 1999 in Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey.
Raised in a close-knit family consisting of an elder sister (Cameron) and their parents Lisa and Sean Dolan, the family suffered a devastating loss in January 2019 after their dad succumbed to cancer after fighting it for two years. The loss prompted them to reevaluate their lives and even decided to stay away from social media for a while.
How Old Were The Dolan Twins When They Started Their Career?
The boys had an early start in their social media endeavours. According to them, they began to dabble into video making since 1st grade and were mostly encouraged by their elder sister to try their hands at repeating this online. They just followed the footsteps of their role models and even though they didn’t set out to be stars, their content and consistency soon helped them build a formidable fan base. They rose to prominence in 2013 after their followership skyrocketed on Vine. Even though they were aged fourteen, they were determined to make it big in the industry and got lucky enough to have popular YouTuber Jake Paul show them the ropes.
They started their YouTube channel in 2014 and continued to gain more fans as they churned out comedy videos weekly and of course, they were as cute as buttons so that couldn’t hurt. They have been signed to Awesomeness TV since 2015 and are represented by the William Morris Agency. By 2016, they had over six million followers on Vine and over four million on YouTube. They then went on their first world tour themed “402” Tour.
As they grow in real life, they have from time to time, taken steps back to reevaluate themselves and the quality of their content. Before taking a break in 2018, they revealed that making their videos has become a job rather than what they enjoy doing and that they were gradually losing their passion for YouTube. They did bounce back from this break better.
Moreover, after the death of their father early 2019, they had a sit-down interview with YouTuber Shane Dawson where they discussed the stress and grief that followed their father’s death. They also announced their intent to change the content of their channel and have a more flexible posting schedule.
Even though it appears that they have the perfect life with their fame and wealth, the twins have been quite vocal about their several struggles, especially with anxiety. Grayson revealed in a 2016 video that he constantly struggles with the pressure to be perfect all the time for his fans. While Ethan also punched in a glass window due to frustration.

All these translate to more money for the twins as they earn the bulk of their fortune from their online exploits.
