He began to play actively while he was still a student at Santa Margarita Catholic High School (SMCHS) where he had his high school education.

In his junior year, he showed so much prowess and skill that he was named to the All-Area second team. In his senior year, he did very well, averaging an amazing 21 points per game and led the SMCHS to a 30–5 record. He also set some state finals records.

Klay Thompson attended the Washington State University where he continued his exploits. As a freshman, he was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman Team after leading his team in 3-point field goal percentage and free throw percentage as well as averaging 12.5 points per game.

In his sophomore season, he led the Cougars to the Great Alaska Shootout Championship, of which he was named Most Outstanding Player after scoring a tournament single-game record of 43 points in the championship game. As a junior, Thompson again earned All-Pac-10 first-team honors after leading the Pac-10 in scoring.

At the end of his stay at Washington State University, he had become the institution’s 3rd all-time leading scorer, cementing his status as one of the most successful people to have played college basketball.

Thompson’s Professional Career

Klay Thompson declared for the 2011 NBA draft and was selected in the first round of the draft by the Golden State Warriors. He has since then his entire career with the Golden State Warriors.

Thompson has done a lot of exploits with the Warriors. In 2014, the basketball player joined forces with his teammate, Stephen Curry to thrill fans and set a then-NBA record with 484 combined three-pointers in just one season. Their exploits earned them the nickname the “Splash Brothers.”
