Is Hayley Kiyoko Gay or Lesbian? Does She Have a Girlfriend?

Hayley Kiyoko is a lesbian who understood and accepted her sexual preference as a 6-year-old. Reports have it that at the time, she was crushing on a female teacher who taught her how to swim, but couldn’t express her feelings. As she got older, her penchant for people of the same sex persisted even as she struggled with the fears of being rejected and facing criticism should she out.

While Alcroft struggled with the realities of being a gay woman, she understood and felt to a large extent the pains of what so many other young gay people in her shoes were passing through. Added to this, she was unable to express her feelings in her songs but after listening to I Kissed a Girl by and Canadian Indie Pop duo of Tegan and Sara, she became bold and confident about who she really is and even regretted not coming out earlier than she did. On the other hand, Hayley Kiyoko has not revealed who her girlfriend is, probably she is still searching.

She produced the song “Mercy/Gatekeeper” which was about her depression, the single Girls Like Girls spoke about her struggles and earned her the title of ‘lesbian Jesus’. She champions a new face of the LGBTQ community away from the narrative that has dominated discussions about them for a long time now. Her debut album Expectations (2018) was all about love for women in the advancement of the LGBTQ cause.
