Jake Arrieta is a professional baseball player who has made a name for himself as a pitcher in the Major League Baseball (MBL) where he plays for the Philadelphia Phillies. The World Series champion has risen since making his MLB debut in 2010 for the Baltimore Orioles and then playing for the Chicago Cubs before finally settling for the Phillies. Jake Arrieta Biography and Age
The Philadelphia Phillies pitcher was born Jacob Joseph Arrieta on March 6, 1986, in Farmington, Missouri. Nevertheless, it was in Texas that he was raised alongside two younger brothers by his parents who were still teenagers the time they gave birth to him.
Since he was a little child, the mind of Jake was not just on sports, but it was fully on baseball. In fact, his father, Lou Arrieta revealed that the first word of his son was ball. Career and Stats
The next time he was sought for by a Major League team was in 2007 when he made the draft and was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the fifth round. He played in the Minor league until 2010 when he made his MLB debut for the Orioles in a game against the New York Yankees.
Before then, he played for the United States at the World University Championship in 2006, helping the team to win the gold medal. He also played with the US team at the 2008 Olympics, winning the Bronze medal.
Jake Arrieta remained with the Baltimore Orioles from 2010 until 2013 when he was traded for Scott Feldman and Steve Clevenger to the Chicago Cubs. He stayed with the team from 2013 to 2017 during which he won the World Series, Silver Slugger Award, and became part of the all-star team in 2016. Previously in 2015, he got the NL Cy Young Award among other recognitions.
After making a great show with the Cubs, Arrieta moved to Philadelphia Phillies after agreeing to a deal with the team that would keep him there for a minimum of 3 years.

In March 2018, Jake signed a deal of 3 years that would keep him with the Phillies for three years. The worth of the deal was placed at $75 million. Based on the contract, he will make $30 million in his first year, while he will get $25 million, and $20 million in the second and third respectively. There is also an option of a contract extension that would have him take home $135 million overall.
There will, of course, be increases in his salary based on his performance and other bonuses. The salary is a significant raise from the $10.7 million he got in 2016.
