One of the many faces that sports lovers can easily recognize at almost any time is that of Joe Buck. The man is an American sportscaster who works with Fox Channel. While he may not be the most loved in sports broadcasting in the US, the award-winning sportscaster still does his thing as best as he can.

Joe Buck’s Dad

Joe was born Joseph Francis Buck on April 25, 1969, in  St. Petersburg, Florida to Jack Buck, who was a sportscaster as he himself would grow to be.

His dad met his mom after he was already married with 6 children, and they got married only a month before he was born. As soon as he began to grow, he would follow his father to check on his other family, which he immediately knew did not want him there. Nevertheless, he would grow to as a “lucky bastard” because he was born by his mother to his dad.

As he grew up and saw what his dad was into, it pulled his interest towards sports broadcasting which he would sustain over many years to come.

Raised in St. Louis, the young Buck attended the St. Louis Country Day School. From here he went forth to attend the Indiana University Bloomington where he obtained a B.A. in English and a minor in telecommunications. Even before he graduated, Joe had already started practising his broadcasting career. That was in 1989.

His earliest career has been traced to a play-by-play call for a minor league affiliate of the Cardinals, Louisville Redbirds. More so, he was also a reporter with the ESPN. He got to work with his dad, filling in for him on KMOX when he was working on CBS.

His career took a proper shape in 1994 when he got a job with Fox. At the time, he was only 25 and that made him the youngest person on Network TV to announce for NFL games.

Over the years to come, he would be criticized by many for believed he made it to the industry only because of his dad. There are likewise many others that would him for perceived bias, but he will maintain his place among the top in sports broadcasting if awards are anything to go by.

Through his career, Joe Buck has won a number of awards including 7 Sports Emmy Awards which places him alongside people like Roy Firestone and Al Michaels who have also won the same number. He has also won the National Sportscaster of the Year award 4 times in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2006.

Just like his father, Joe Buck is a Hall-Of-Fame sportscaster and he got to become the youngest play-by-play announcer to call a World Series when he got the opportunity at the age of 27.

The man is also a writer and actor. He co-authored a book with Michael Rosenberg; Lucky Bastard: My Life, My Dad, and the Things I’m Not Allowed to Say on TV. He has also made appearances in a number of movies including Fever Pitch (2005) and Deconstructing Harry (Voice, 2007).

In 1993, Joe buck got married to Ann Archambault. The two remained together for the next 17 years and within the time, they had 2 children; a daughter Natalie Buck who seems to be towing the same path as her father and grandfather as she had her Internship at the Fox-affiliated television station in 2015. Buck also has a son, Trudy Buck.

Joe’s marriage to Ann Archambault hit the rocks in 2011 and they parted ways. It was until 2014 that he decided to give marriage another shot when he decided to tie the knot with ESPN’s reporter, .

With the above and the fact that the man has never been linked to any man in the past, it is very obvious that Joe Buck is not gay. He is yet to have any child with Michelle Beisner.
