Kid Cudi Bio (Age)
On the 30th of January, 1984, in Cleveland, Ohio, Kid Cudi was born and named Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi. He is the youngest of four children born to Elsie Harriet and Lindberg Styles Mescudi. His father was a World War II Air Force veteran who found work as a house painter and substitute teacher while his mother was a choir teacher in middle school.
At around the age of 11, Cudi’s father passed away following a battle with cancer. The loss of his father was said to have adversely affected his personality as he began to have a few run-ins with the law. For his education, he first attended Shaker Heights High School before transferring to Solon High School where he was ultimately expelled for threatening physical violence on his principal. He later completed his GED and went on to enroll in the University of Toledo to study film but dropped out after a year.
Having failed to complete his college education, Kid Cudi tried to join the U.S. Navy but his poor juvenile police record meant he was rejected. Left with no other viable career option, the youngster went ahead to pursue his dream of becoming a rapper, as he had reportedly begun honing his craft just after high school. He subsequently left Ohio for New York where he lived with his uncle for a while before he was able to find his feet.
While working on his music, Cudi found a minimum wage job which he did for a while until his music was able to reach the ears of hip-hop artist through his then manager Plain Pat. West liked what he heard and went on to offer Cudi a record deal, bringing him into his GOOD Music record label. The two went on to work on a number of records, most notably, songs like “Heartless,” “Welcome to Heartbreak,” “Paranoid” and “RoboCop” which were on West’s 808s & Heartbreak (2008) album.
In 2009, Kid Cudi was named in XXL’s 2009 annual Freshman Class as he went on to release his debut album; Man on the Moon: The End of Day which featured songs like “Day ‘n’ Nite”, “Make Her Say”, and “Pursuit of Happiness.” He has since released a total of six studio albums, gaining a huge following along the way for his creativity and originality.
Daughter
On March 26, 2010, Kid Cudi and Jacqueline Munyasya welcomed a daughter named Vada Wamwene Mescudi. It is not clear what kind of relationship the musician and his baby’s mother had before and after they brought a child into the world. Two years after the birth of Vada, however, issues between the pair made headlines as it was revealed that they were embroiled in a custody battle.
Reports later indicated that the two had reached an amicable agreement and Munyasya was to have full custody. The exact details of the official custody agreement are not public knowledge and have remained private. Cudi, on the other hand, was said to have purchased a property near where his baby’s mother lived in order to remain close to his daughter.
