The name Laurene Powell Jobs rings a bell for a couple or rather several reasons; she is the widow and heir of business mogul and former CEO and co-founder of one of U.S largest multinational tech companies Apple Inc. Steve Jobs. Asides being popular as Job’s widow and heir, Powell has made a name for herself in the business world.
She is a well-known business executive and founder of Emerson Collective, an organization that advocates for change in policies affecting education, immigration reforms, conservation of the environment and social justice. Laurene is also the co-founder of College Tank (a foundation established to help handicapped high school students get ready for college). She currently serves as the president of its board of directors.

Laurene holds a Bachelor of Arts/Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Laurene met her late husband Steve Jobs at the Stanford Business School as a guest at a lecture he gave at the institution in October 1989. He took note of her and later asked her out at the parking lot.
After dating for over one year, the lovebirds tied the knot at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park on March 18th, 1991. They remained married until Steve’s untimely death in October 2011. Following Steve’s death, she became a recipient of huge inheritance which she has channeled into helping the less privilege.
She is a great philanthropist and has donated into several social causes while controlling the Laurene Powell Jobs Trust. She is the founder of Emerson Collective, a nonprofit social impact firm. Laurene Powell Jobs is also passionate about seeing young ones educated thus, her involvement with the Make School (a coding school an electric scooter startup).
She has also shown the world in an innumerable number of ways that she knows how to spend her money. She purchased a house worth over $16.5 million in May 2018. The property is located on Russian Hill in San Francisco. Added to her list of properties is a multimillion-dollar yacht that she bought after acquiring the mansion.
Nonetheless, Laurene has proven herself a business wit by investing in multiple corporations. She has invested her money in Atlantic Magazine; an influential US Magazine and has also invested in nonprofit publications from Mother Jones to ProPublica. In partnership with Concordia Studio, she plans to produce documentaries with an Oscar-winning filmmaker, Davis Guggenheim.
The widow also has her nose stuck in politics. She belongs to the Democratic party.

Steve Jobs and Laurene Powell Jobs both had three children together. Their children are Reed, Erin and Eve. Reed Jobs is their only male child and he was born in September 1991. He is named after Jobs Alma Mater – Reed College.

With a net worth of $20.5 billion in 2018, she was ranked as the 20th in the Forbes 400 and the 22nd in the Power Women, 58th amongst billionaires. As of March 2019, her net worth dropped to $19 billion; it will however most likely increases before the year runs out.

After Steve’s death, Laurene Powell Jobs found love again in the arms of the former Mayor of Washington DC, Adrian Fenty. The pair met back in 2011 at a Houston education conference. They started off as friends before getting involved romantically in 2013, a few years after Steve’s death. That was also after Fenty separated from his wife of fifteen years. The duo has remained together ever since; they are obviously having a time of their lives and are usually spotted vacationing together.
