Levi Meaden was born on the 13th of September 1987 in Canada’s Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and raised in Calgary, Alberta. In his October 2016 interview with Upfront NY, Levi revealed that he took an interest in acting from a very early age and began acting in local theaters in Calgary.

Levi, sometime during his teens, stopped acting but maintained an interest in entertainment. After high school, he wound up in Czech Republic’s Prague Center for Film Education where he studied writing and directing. During his time at the school, Levi’s passion for acting was reignited by one of his teachers named Simon Howard.

Levi then resumed acting, making his first screen debut in the 2009 short film, Brotherly Love as written and directed by Marcus Schwenzel. After completing his studies in Czech, Levi moved to Vancouver where he began working with a production company. Director Roger Larry who owned the production company that Levi worked for encouraged him to consider taking on acting as a full-time career.

Larry helped Levi land an agent and he began scoring small parts in TV shows and short films. One of his earliest success came in the 2012 direct-to-video horror film 1313: Bigfoot Island. Levi would then appear in TV shows like The Secret Circle, Behind the 8 Ball, and Almost Human.

The year 2014 would become Meaden’s breakthrough year as he got parts in three huge TV shows. They include; Almost Human, The Killing, and The 100. Up next was a recurring part in Olympus, iZombie, as well as an appearance in an episode of Legends of Tomorrow.

His career received a huge boost after he portrayed the oldest Copeland child, Matt Copeland in the first season of the Canadian apocalyptic-survival series, Aftermath which aired on Syfy. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after its first season in 2016.

Levi then began to focus on the big screen. He had three films come out in 2017 –  War for the Planet of the Ape, Incontrol, and Alice in the Attic. The latter marked his debut leading role in a film. He scored the part of Cadet Ilya in the sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising.

Levi Meaden was one of those low-key celebrities until photos and word got out that he had begun dating the uber-popular Ariel Winter in November 2016.

Though it is not clear how they met, speculations are that it could have been through a mutual friend. That mutual friend has been suspected to be Winter’s pal Sterling Beaumon who acted with Meaden in The Killing.

Their first red carpet appearance together was on the 4th of December 2016, at the Trevor Project’s TrevorLive Los Angeles fundraiser. Girlfriend Winter revealed during her Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance that Meaden does all the cooking in the house. “…I can’t cook at all. He takes care of all that handy stuff. He’s great, he does all that,” Ariel said.

2. A huge animal lover, Meaden used to Foster dogs

Meaden frequently posts about animals on his social media platforms. Back in 2016, during his interview with Upfront NY, he revealed that together with his fellow actor roommates, he used to foster dogs. They would pick up dogs from a kill shelter and cater for them until a family comes for them.

Meaden has been a huge fan of science fiction since he was a kid. His all-time favorite is Star Wars. He has lost count on how many times he has read the books and watched the films.
