American actor and singer Matthew Broderick is known for his very many remarkable movie roles which have earned him lots of awards. He was born on March 21, 1962, in Manhattan, New York to his parents, Patricia and James Broderick. It must have been a matter of heredity for the actor whose parents were into showbiz. His mother Patricia was an actress and a playwright, and his father was also an actor. Matthew is an alumnus of City and Country School and also Walden School in Manhattan. He started to develop his performing skills in high school, having attended Walden where drama was a major program.
Matthew, in fact, starred alongside his father in the HB studio production On Valentine’s Day. He appeared next in the Off-Broadway production Torch Song Trilogy. Broderick went on to feature in a host of other plays and gradually drew attention to himself. He made his film debut in 1983 in the Neil Simon movie Max Dugan Returns. He went on to star in WarGames which turned out to be a massive hit. Broderick played the lead role of a Seattle teen hacker, David Lightman in the movie.

Kicking off with the adult voice role of Simba in the Lion King, he also got another voice role of Tack the Cobbler in The Thief and the Cobbler. Also in the 90s, the actor made a return to Broadway in the musical production, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Broderick’s performance in the production earned him a Tony Award.
