Max Holloway Bio
The man who gets paid to beat the shit out of others, Jerome Maxx Keli Holloway was born on December 4, 1991. Though not much is known about the fighter’s upbringing, family and early life, we know the UFC star graduated from Waianae High School in 2010 where he took interest in kickboxing and started learning. We also know he grew up in Hawaii, which is most likely also his birthplace. He is of Samoan, English and Native Hawaiian ancestry.
His UFC Career
To the best of our knowledge, Max started fighting in high school. At the age of 19, he had won four fights and lost none. Max’s fighting style and talent earned him comparisons with former UFC fighting star, Anthony Pettis. In the 2012 World MMA Scouting Report, Max was rated number 7 in the featherweight division.
By the time Max Holloway made his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2012, he was the youngest fighter on the UFC roster. His first fight was against , and he lost via submission in the first round. It would be his only loss in his debut year. At the end of 2012, Holloway fought a handful of times and emerged the winner. His skill and talent from the scouting report were proving to be right.
Holloway’s fighting styles are Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he could boast of a purple belt in the latter. Between 2013 and 2014, Holloway fought five times, and won three of them, winning the Performance of the Night award for his fight against Akira Corassani. His losses between 2013-2014 came against UFC superstar, and Dennis Bermudez in 2013. Holloway lost the fight against Connor McGregor via unanimous decision and lost against Dennis via a controversial split decision.
With the failures he suffered in 2013, Max came back better and stronger. The UFC fighter hasn’t lost a fight since 2013 and eventually became the youngest UFC fighter to win 10 fights after his fight with Charles Oliveira on August 23, 2015. He won the match via TKO. In 2017, Holloway in a title unification fight on June 3, 2017, fought Jose Aldo. Holloway also won the match via TKO and earned his first Fight of the Night award.
Holloway hasn’t been able to maintain his fighting consistency in 2018, pulling out of three different fights due to injuries. He is however expected to fight in UFC 231 in Toronto, Canada against Brain Ortega on December 8, 2018.
Known for his tactical strength in the ring, Max Holloway has had many accomplishments including being the current UFC Featherweight Champion over the course of his UFC career. Few of his other accolades are – most active wins in the UFC featherweight division, he’s tied for most TKO wins in UFC featherweight history, and has won the performance of the night award three times. In 2017, he won fighter of the year award by RealSport, MMAMania.com, Pundit Area, and MMAFighting.com. His UFC fighting record stands at 22 fights, 19 wins, with 9 TKOs and 3 losses.

Even though the UFC star shares a son with former child actress and model, Kaimana Pa’aluhi, he is no longer married to her. Despite getting married on February 14, 2012, after a long period of dating, the couple got a divorce shortly after the marriage kicked off. The fighting champion is currently dating supermodel, Moani Hara. The two started dating in 2014.
