Miles Bridges is a professional American basketball player who plays the role of a small/power forward in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Michigan native completed his collegiate career with the Spartans of Michigan State University. The Charlotte Hornets star was born as Miles Emmanuel Bridges in Flint, Michigan on the 21st of March 1998. He was born to African-American parents Raymond Bridges and his wife Cynthia Bridges. His father was a two-time champion at Flint Northern High School and he taught Miles all he knew about basketball starting from the age of two. Miles is of American nationality while his ethnicity is black-American.
Growing up, Miles went to Woodland Park Academy, a middle school situated in Grand Blanc, Michigan. For his high school career, he was enrolled at Flint Southwestern Academy and later; transferred to Huntington Prep School in West Virginia.
During his high school basketball career, Miles had an average of 9.9 rebounds and 9.8 points per game while leading the team to a 29 – 5 record as a sophomore. The following year, he led Huntington Prep to advance to the semi-finals; while scoring 8 rebounds and 21 points before losing to the Oak Hill Academy at the Dick’s Sporting Goods High School Nationals Tournament. At the end of his junior year, Miles averaged 10.6 rebounds and 15.7 points per game. During the summer of 2015, he took part in the NBPA Top 100 Camp.
In his senior year, the kid earned a spot in the McDonald’s All-American game as well as a 2016 Jordan Classic All-Star Game after averaging 10.0 rebounds and 25.0 points in the season. During the NBA draft of 2018, Miles Bridges was picked by the Los Angeles Clippers as their 11th overall selection in the draft. He was subsequently traded to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for the Hornets selection Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
While the Hornets did not make it to the NBA playoffs; they were able to finish at the third position in the Southeast Division.
