She stated that he doesn’t really respect the Japanese as a people but views them as caricatures. However, actions and its fallout have not affected the way the Japanese see foreigners.

Her post, was, however, met with abuse from Paul’s fanbase while many others viewed their comments as an example of toxic behavior that needs to be discouraged.

Reina was born 21 August 1988 in Japan into a Shinto shrine family, all of whom are Japanese but moved to the United States when she was 3 years old. She changed her last name from Suzuki to Scully which became her stage name and she said it’s because of her love of The X-Files, particularly the character of Dana Scully played by Gillian Anderson.

She does not have any siblings and her parents’ names or details are unknown but she, however, mentioned that they are divorced since she was 7 and often posts pictures of them on her pages.

Reina belongs to the white ethnicity and holds the Japanese nationality. She debuted on social media in 2010 when she joined Twitter which served as a base for her online activities. Scully has been active on the social media since then and has over 129 thousand followers on Instagram and more than 126 thousand fans on her Twitter handle.

She gained fame as a host of SourceFed in March of 2014 with Bree Essrig and has helped SourceFed win a 2014 Streamy Award for News and Current Events. The channel was closed in 2017 but made a comeback with a new name, a new producer, Michael Calabro who is described as a NERD, and new content. This did not augur well with the fans as they preferred the previous contents and expressed their displeasure in the comments section. The changes have caused a fall in the subscriber’s list.

Scully has an eponymous YouTube channel where she’s garnered over 320,000 subscribers and is also a part of other channels like Super Panic Frenzy. She is an actress and writer, known for Nuclear Family (2016), RWBY (2012) and Sugar Pine 7 (2016). She is also a part of the Rooster Teeth through the podcast and a voice character in anime Urahara.

She announced her engagement to Michael Flusk on Twitter in 2014. Michael proposed to her in front of her whole family in Japan. They got married in October 2016 in a Japanese traditional wedding and she posted the details on her Twitter and her YouTube channel.

Michael Flusk is supposedly an avid fan of the sports and geek culture. He had asked for the blessing from Reina’s parents in Japanese although he cannot speak much of the language and Scully described it as pretty hot.
