Sanjay Gupta is a renowned American-Indian neurosurgeon who is also a multiple Emmy Award-winning medical reporter on CNN and New York Times bestselling author. Gupta, who currently serves as the associate chief of neurosurgery at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta was under the Obama Administration, considered for the position of Surgeon General of the United States but however withdrew his name. Biography
Sanjay Gupta was born on the 23rd of October, 1969, in Novi, Michigan to Indian immigrant parents; Subhash and Damyanti Gupta. He attended Novi High School before enrolling at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he studied biomedical sciences. After acquiring his first degree, he went back to Michigan’s medical school to get his Doctor of Medicine degree.
During this time, Gupta wrote several articles on health care issues in the United States and elsewhere. Some of these articles were read by and led to him landing a White House Fellowship as a special adviser on medicine and health issues to Hillary Clinton. In 2000, Gupta completed his neurological surgery residency before doing a fellowship at the Semmes Murphy Clinic, in Memphis, Tennessee. A year later, he joined CNN’s medical news team, reporting on the 9/11 terrorist attacks. After two years, Gupta flew to Iraq for CNN to report on the medical aspect of the country’s invasion. He found himself performing emergency brain surgery on injured US soldiers during this time.
In addition to his work for CNN that include the award-winning special reports on Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the Haiti earthquake in 2010, Sanjay Gupta has contributed to shows on the CBS network while still rising to the position of associate chief of neurosurgery at Grady Memorial Hospital and assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Emory University School of Medicine.

Together, the 5 feet 2 inches tall lawyer and her 5 feet 8 inches tall husband, who she is a year older than, have three daughters; first is Sage Ayla who was born in June 2005, then Sky Anjahi who was born in January 2007, and finally Soleil Asha who was born in 2009.
Mrs. Gupta was born on the 30th of November, 1968 in Novi, Michigan. She is said to have attended the same high school Gupta went to, Novi High School, before also enrolling at the University of Michigan. She graduated from the school in 1992 prior to acquiring her Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina, Columbia.

Sanjay Gupta has two siblings; Suneel and Yogesh, who are both doing exciting things in their various fields of endeavor. Suneel Gupta, who is the co-founder and CEO of Rise, a health-care company that reduces the cost of quality health-care with the use of technology, has an MBA and a law degree from the Kellogg School of Management and Northwestern Law School respectively. He is married to Fortune Magazine journalist Leena Rao.
In August 2018, Suneel Gupta, via the Democratic Party, bid to enter the House of Representative from Michigan’s 11th Congressional District but however came third in voting in the primaries which was won by former Obama Administration official, Haley Stevens.
Yogesh Gupta, on the other hand, has a Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and then a Computer Science Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin. He currently serves as the CEO of Kaseya, an IT Management software provider for MSPs and mid-market enterprises.
