In simple words, Stephania Bell is one of a kind. She is a physical therapist but unlike many in her profession who barely get to gain the attention of the media, Bell stands different. The physical therapist who is also an orthopedic clinical specialist has been able to make her skills with bones and nerves very marketable. This she did by working with athletes. Her skills and expertise with player injuries saw her begin a career as a sports journalist, a job which sees her report, analyze and predict the likely outcome of player injuries. She began small but soon her works attracted the attention of ESPN who employed her services in 2008. Here is how she was able to go from just treating injuries to appearing on TV.
Stephania Bell’s Bio (Ethnicity)
Stephania Bell was born on the 20th day of May 1966 in San Francisco, California and was raised in Mountain View, California – a place she prefers to call her hometown. Not much is known about her roots but Bell’s facial features tell that she could have roots from Asia. She attended an all-girls college preparatory school, The Madeira School in McLean, Virginia. She also attended Princeton University from where she earned a degree in French Literature in 1987.
Though she studied French at the college, Bell was drawn to the athletic training department where she did some works. She then decided to learn more about her passion by studying for a master’s degree in physical therapy at the University of Miami which she received in 1991. Stephania Bell attended the Ola Grimsby Institute from where she earned a certification in orthopedic manual therapy.
Before dabbling in sports reporting, Stephania Bell tutored at many programs including at the University of Kansas where she taught for five years and the Samuel Merritt College. A member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT), Bell has a wealth of experience working with patients including mostly athletes and performance artists.
Also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, Stephania Bell became a highly-sought consultant to athletes with complex conditions. While working with the fantasy football of the University of Kansas, Bell began blogging about football injuries and soon attracted attention from other fantasy football owners. With her medical expertise, Stephania Bell is able to review player injuries working with their injury history to come up with a proper training activity.
Then came knocking for her services in 2008 as an injury analyst. She became a regular contributor to Fantasy Focus Football podcast and in 2016 was made the co-host. She has since been an active part of the ESPN’s Fantasy Football coverage. In addition to football, she has also covered the injuries of athletes in other sports like baseball and golf. She has covered the injuries of both and Alex Rodriguez.
Bell who co-authored the book The Clinical Orthopedic Assessment Guide has received a number of awards and recognition for her expertise, among them is the AAOMPT John McM. Mennell Service Award.
Salary of The Physical Therapist
Stephania Bell’s job as a medical person and sports journalist is quite a unique combination and as a result, many have become curious about just how much she gets to make from these two professions. Though Bell has never revealed just how much she earns for a living, research shows that physical therapists can earn as high as $100,000 annually.
On the other hand, sports journalists are said to make an average annual salary of $40,000 and can earn as high as $80,000. With these figures, and considering her high level of qualification, it is safe to say that Stephanie Bell could be earning nothing less than $100,000 as her annual take home, excluding bonuses. In addition to the salary she receives from employees, Bell runs a personalized blog where she writes about player injuries. The physical therapists could also be earning some money from the proceeds of her blog.
Is She Married or Single?
Stephania Bell is pretty much tight-lipped when it comes to details regarding her love life. So far in her career, she hasn’t been romantically linked with anyone. Although details about her love life are scarce, it is highly unlikely that Bell is a married woman, chances are that she could be in a relationship which she is keeping away from the media light.
The only time that Stephania Bell’s name has popped up in any romantic-related story was when she was rumored to be flirting with NBC sports journalist Erik Kuselias then married to acclaimed golf analyst . It is said that Kuselias’ flirting with Bell was part of the reasons why he got divorced by his wife, Sonders.
