Susanna Reid’s Bio

The gorgeous journalist was born as Susanna Victoria Reid on the 10th day of December 1970 in Croydon neighborhood of Surrey County in England. She was born into a middle-class British family and is the last child of Barry Reid and his wife Sue Smith. Susanna has two other sisters and their parents separated when she was nine years old. Her mother worked as a nurse while her father, Barry served as a management consultant.

While growing up, she completed her basic education at Croham Hurst School in 1981. After which she enrolled at Croydon High School and eventually finished up at St Paul’s Girls’ School in 1989.

Soon after she left high school, Susanna went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in law and philosophy at the University of Bristol in 1992. She studied further and got a certificate in broadcast journalism from the Cardiff School of Journalism. As a teenager, Susanna appeared in Broadway productions such as The Price along with Harriet Walter in 1985 and Spider’s Web alongside Shirley Anne Field in 1982.

Journalism Career

Susanna Reid made her first touch in the world of journalism when she joined BBC Radio in Bristol. After a while, she was hired as a reporter for Radio 5 Live. Due to her wonderful performances, she was soon promoted to the position of a producer at Radio 5. A few months passed, Susanna joined the BBC News 24 where she worked as a correspondent for two years.

Acquainted with the modus operandi of BBC Network, she quickly rose through the ranks to become a presenter on the network. In 1998, she joined the Breakfast News show where she served as an anchor and in 2003, Susanna started hosting the BBC Breakfast show alongside Bill Turnbull. She remained on the show for eleven years until her exit in 2014. She was replaced by Siam Williams while she went on to host another show Sunday Morning Live.

Additionally, the journalist has equally hosted a couple of other shows on the BBC network including The Andrew Marr Show, the Live Coverage of Oscars, and New Year Live show, among others. Following her top-notch work ethics, Susanna was recruited by ITV to serve as a host of their breakfast show Good Morning Britain in 2014. She has been one of the main hosts of the show to date along with and Ben Shephard.
