Trent Williams is a professional American football player who plays in the offensive tackle position for NFL side Washington Redskins. Trent Williams Biography
Trent Williams was born on July 18, 1988, in Longview, Texas. His parents are Veronica and Freddie Williams. He was raised alongside an older brother named Fredrick. Unlike the very passionate NFL star he has become today, Trent Williams was literally coerced to play his first ever football game at the age of 7.
He schooled at Longview High School where as a two-sport athlete, he lettered in football as well as Track and field. By the end of his stint with the Longview Lobos high school football team, Williams was regarded a three-star recruit having earned a consensus first-team All-district designation in his senior year. Of the numerous offers received, the talented youngster settled for the University of Oklahoma.
Williams had an illustrious 3-year stint with the Oklahoma Sooners football team. Playing at right tackle, he started the last 6 games of his freshman season after Brandon Braxton suffered an injury in week 7. He played 462 snaps and had 75 knockdowns, a performance which earned him a Freshman All-America second team designation. His performance equally earned him more playing time in his sophomore season as he featured in all 14 games including 6 starts at right tackle.
In his junior (2008) season, William Trent started all 14 regular season games during which he recorded 131 knockdowns. He was a part of the impressive offensive line of the 2008 Sooners which let in only 11 sacks throughout the season. Williams missed the final game of the season due to an injury, however, he led the team with 102 knockdown blocks and 885 plays.
By the time he declared for the 2010 NFL Draft, Trent Williams was adjudged one of the best offensive tackle prospects and also widely considered a first round pick. As expected, he was drafted 4th overall by the Washington Redskins after which he penned a 6-year deal with the side.
Trent Williams marked his NFL debut in the Redskins’ 2011 season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. In all, it was a relatively uneventful rookie season – the talented player had his rookie campaign marred by a 4-game suspension incurred after failing multiple drug tests for marijuana use. Despite the setback, Williams had a major resurgence in his second professional season (2012). Though he was hampered by a knee injury which lingered through the entire season, Williams put up an outstanding performance for which he was named on the 2013 Pro Bowl team, the first among several others. However, he was restricted to the sidelines of the all-star game due to an injury incurred in a nightclub brawl.
Regardless of his lousy 2013 season with the Redskins, Trent Williams was the only member of the team to be selected for the 2014 Pro Bowl. The talented offensive tackle continued in his top form in the seasons that followed which earned him further Pro Bowl selections. He equally received a second-team All-Pro designation in 2015 and in December 2017, Williams was named to his 6th consecutive Pro Bowl, the longest and second-longest streak by an offensive lineman in the history of the Washington Redskins and in NFL history respectively.
Is He Married, Who’s His Wife?
For a player that exhibits a great level of boldness on the field, Trent Williams maintains a rather closely-guarded personal life. Reports about his relationship and family life are mostly vague with little or no detail. While the identity of his family remains unknown, Williams’ profile on the Forbes website indicates that he is married with 2 kids.
Height, Weight, and Body Measurements
Trent Williams stands at a towering height of 6 feet 5 inches (196 cm). He maintains a body weight of 145 kg (320 lb) after losing nearly 30 lb in the 2015 offseason. Williams exhibits incredible athleticism as well as great footwork for a player his size. His physical dominance on the field earned him the nickname “Silverback” which he has tattooed on his back. The Redskins’ offensive lineman also stands out for his unrivalled hand-eye coordination.
