However, contrary to what was thought of him by many, Lars just like other great athletes both in the present time and past wasn’t built up with stones and irons. His ascent to the top was put to a stop by a knee injury he sustained which as reports had it, should see him away from the ring for 6 to 9 months.

With his last appearance on Monday Night Raw on the 10th of June 2019, there have been several reports made about Lars’ return to the ring. As a result of this, some concerned fans have also expressed their worry if Lars Sullivan will ever fight in the World Wrestling Entertainment again. Here are the facts we know.

Who is Lars Sullivan?

He is a professional American wrestler whose real name is Dylan Miley. He was born on the 6th of July 1988 in Westminster, Colorado, United States. With the talent, body build and passion to make a career out of wrestling, Dylan began training with American professional wrestler, mixed martial artist, and two-time ECW World Champion . Reports have it that it was Bobby who advised Dylan to join the WWE.

In the year 2013 as a 25-year-old, Dylan underwent training at the WWE Performance Center and in August of the same year, he got signed to the WWE. By March 2015, Dylan made his professional debut in WrestleMania Axxess where he defeated French professional wrestler, Marcus Louis.

For the next 2 years that followed, Marcus fought in WWE NXT live events as a member of a tag team and also adopted the ring name Lars Sullivan in May 2017 after which he began appearing as a single fighter. He recorded victories against opponents like Kassius Ohno, Roderick Strong, Ricochet and Velveteen Dream. Lars joined WWE Raw and announced himself by attacking Kurt Angle on April 8. He repeated the same feat by attacking several other big names in the ring and with this, he drew a lot of attention to himself.

What Happened to Him?

Lars Sullivan later moved over to the SmackDown brand on April 16, 2018, and began a storyline with three members of Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado) whom he defeated in a 3-1 handicap elimination match on 10th June 2019 episode of RAW. This victory turned out to be one that cost him a lot including putting his career on the line. He suffered a knee injury which has kept him away on the sidelines at a time he was believed to be unstoppable and destined for the top.

On WWE’s internal injury report, Lars Sullivan is expected to be out till June 2020 but speaking on the nature of Lars’ injury, Managing Editor of Fightful.com Sean Ross Sapp expressed optimism that he doesn’t expect the wrestler to be out that long. He opined that Lars will bounce back in about 6 or 9 months. However, some reports suggested otherwise.

Here’s What We Know About Lars Sullivan’s Return to the WWE

In a sport like wrestling, recovering from an injury is one part of a hurdle while getting back into the ring is yet another bigger part of the same hurdle. For Lars Sullivan who prior to his injury stated that he would like to become a WWE Champion in 18 months, one can’t help but admire the amount of determination that resides within the wrestling monster.

Going by revelations later made by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, an MRI revealed that Lars’ knee injury appeared more severe than initially thought. This has cast skepticisms on his initial 6 to 9 months projected recovery timeline.

Be that as it may, every report that has been made so for on Lars Sullivan’s injury update has it that the wrestler will still make a comeback to the WWE. He is definitely not going to retire as a result of his knee injury.

More to this, Vince McMahon; the majority owner, chairman, and CEO of WWE is known to give second chances. Though Lars hasn’t had the smoothest of careers, his injury problem and a $100,000 fine he got from the WWE after an old racist and homophobic post he made on Bodybuilding.com surfaced online. It is hoped that the wrestler will bounce back in the ring possibly on or before Royal Rumble 2020.
