Read on to find out what these things are as well as how else you can get to see the actor again.
Age and Background Details
As the youngest of four children, this actor was named Thomas Edward Hulce after he was born to Raymond Albert Hulce and his wife Joanne Winkleman. He was born on the 6th of December 1953 and according to records, his place of birth was in Detroit, Michigan. His father worked for the Ford Motor Company while his mother was a singer who briefly sang with musician and composer Phil Spitalny’s All-Girl Orchestra.
Due to the influence of his mother, Hulce, from a very young age, wanted to become a singer. However, by the time he was entering his teenage years, his voice began to change, thereby ending whatever dream he had of making it as a singer. Regardless of the disappointment, the young boy was still keen on having a career in showbiz, so he decided to switch his focus to becoming an actor.
At the age of 15, Tom Hulce left home to attend Interlochen Arts Academy. He later enrolled at the North Carolina School of the Arts, after which he traveled to England for summer to further hone his craft before returning to the United States and starting his career in New York. Hulce made his acting debut in 1975 in the Broadway play Equus opposite Anthony Perkins. He went on to spend the better part of a decade as primarily a theater actor, only taking occasional movie roles in films like September 30, 1955 (1977) and Animal House (1978).
This all changed in 1984 when he beat the likes of , Mikhail Baryshnikov, and to land the role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the film, Amadeus (1984). Hulce received a nomination for Best Actor at the Academy Awards for his performance in the film. He has since then starred in over two dozen films and series, winning various awards along the way.
Net Worth
The multiple award-winner, who currently has four Golden Globe nominations, an Emmy Award, and a Tony Award to his name, has an estimated net worth of $15 million. Tom Hulce was able to amass his huge wealth thanks to his careers both in front and behind the camera.
Who Is His Wife, Is He Gay?
Tom Hulce has never been married and therefore does not have a wife. He has never been married and we can tell you for a fact that he is not even sexually attracted to members of his opposite sex.
Tom Hulce is an openly gay man. The Detroit, Michigan native made his sexual orientation known to the public in 2008 in an interview with the newspaper, Seattle Gay News. He said he was comfortable with his sexuality and that the main reason he was speaking out was so that he could debunk an age-old rumor about him.
In the past, it was believed in several quarters that this actor is married. The reasons for this is not far-fetched as there was an erroneous report that circulated he was married to an Italian woman named Cecilia Ermini. The false report had further stated that he and the said woman had a daughter named Anya together. Hulce called the story a total fabrication.
