The whole process gets even more confusing when friends, loved ones, family members, and relatives come with their list of the names they feel would suit your unborn child.
This notwithstanding, the most important thing to consider while picking a name for your baby is to choose one that you love and are comfortable with and this was exactly what and did when they decided to name their son Dimitri Portwood Kutcher.
Appearing on The Show in May 2016, Ashton, revealed he was keeping a secret (his wife’s pregnancy). He later revealed in another interview that he initially wanted to name his son (second child) Hawkeye but then settled for Dimitri.
Why did he have to change the name at the last minute, how did he arrive at the name and what does the name mean? Here are the details.
Why is Dimitri Portwood Kutcher famous?
Dimitri Portwood Kutcher is famous for being the youngest son of celebrity actors named Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.
Who Is Dimitri Portwood Kutcher? Bio, Age
Dimitri Portwood Kutcher is the second child (first son) born to an adorable celebrity couple.
The couple who are already parents to three-year-old daughter Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher who was born October 1, 2014, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A, on November 30, 2016, welcomed their second child together. Dimitri Portwood Kutcher came out weighing 8 pounds and 15 ounces.
Announcing the arrival of their son via Kutcher’s website on December 2, 2016, the couple, however, didn’t provide further info on how they arrived at the name Dimitri and what it meant.
In an interview earlier in November before the arrival of the baby, Ashton revealed that he had wanted to name his son Hawkeye – after the mascot of his alma mater, the University of Iowa, but had to change it at the last minute as it appeared Mila had a better alternative.
Changing the name of their kids seems to have become a trend for the couple. After the birth of their daughter in 2014, The Ranch actor revealed they had changed the name they had initially chosen for Wyatt before she was born.
According to Ashton, he and Kunis had picked a baby name long before she got pregnant, but would later realize that the name is no match for the energy that the two were feeling and that Mila made it clear one night when she bluntly said: “This is not the name.”
And on how they arrived at the name Wyatt, he said the inspiration came to him while at a sporting event.
They had gone to a Lakers game when he began listing off anything and everything he saw then suddenly the name Wyatt popped up, he mentioned it to Mila and she went ‘That’s it” and that was actually it. And her middle name Isabelle is from Mila’s grandfather Yitzhak.
Now back to how they arrived at the name Dimitri Portwood Kutcher, for their son, Ashton who got the inspiration for the name Wyatt said it was Mila’s inspiration this time around.
They were out on a date when Mila said she thinks will become president and that she thinks the baby’s name will be Dimitri, shocked at her intuition that will win the presidential elections, he totally forgot about the name until he got home one day and just said to Mila “I think Dimitri is the name of the baby,” and she said “I know, right?’ ‘Yeah, that’s it!” and that was it.
How old is Dimitri Portwood Kutcher?

What’s The Meaning Of Mila Kunis’s Son’s Name?
Unlike the name Wyatt, which, Ashton simply yelled out while out on a sporting event, the name Dimitri Portwood Kutcher, seems to tell more about the couple’s roots and heritage (well, Isabelle also speaks of their roots).
Dimitri is a very popular boy’s name with Russian origin and roots. According to, Dimitri which simply means “follower of Demeter”, is one of several possible spelling variations of the name of [Demetrius], the Greek god of fertility and farming.
Why a Russian name you may ask. Well, Kunis has Russian roots. She had moved to the U.S. from Ukraine at age seven, she speaks Russian, fluently and had once told Marie Claire, that her kids are going to know Russian and that they’ll probably go to a Russian preschool.
And for his middle name, Portwood, reports suggest that Kutcher must have named his son after his stepfather Mark Portwood – whose last name, his mother, Diane Portwood, also shares.
Thus, the choice of the name Dimitri Portwood might just be to feel the connection with their family and roots (heritage).
