Who is Fran Kranz?

Fran Kranz is an American actor born as Francis Elliott Kranz on July 13, 1981, in Los Angeles, California. Fran was raised in his birth town and have lived there for the majority of his life. It was in North Hollywood California that he went to high school, Fran attended Harvard-Westlake High School.

From a very young age, Fran nursed the dream of being seen on the television screens as an actor and in order to achieve this dream of acting, he joined his school’s drama team when he was in his third grade and started acting in school plays. At Harvard-Westlake School, Fran continued acting with the drama club and was also focused on graduating. He graduated from high school in 2000.

Fran applied for admission into Yale University and his application was accepted. He started studying at Yale University in 2000 and graduated from the university in 2004. During his time in college, Fran never gave up on his dream of becoming an actor, he always took the slightest opportunities he saw to improve on his acting skills and he also

went for various auditions. After he graduated from college, Fran chose ultimately to pursue a full career in acting.

His Career

Fran Kranz kicked off his professional acting career when he was still in high school. He bagged his first acting role in 1998, starring in an episode of the TV show Frasier. Fran was cast as Aaron in the episode titled “Good Grief”.

While still in college in 2001, he made his film debut, starring as a passenger in Donnie Darko. In the same year, he played the role of a college driver in the film titled Training Day. Following his graduation from college in the same year, Fran starred in The Village as Christop Crane and as James Parks in Admissions.

In 2002, Fran was cast in Orange County as Shane Brainard. Movie roles began flowing in for the young actor and in 2003 he bagged two more roles, as Slacker Boyfriend and Adrian in the films Matchstick Man and Swordswallowers and Thin Man, respectively.

Other top-notch films the LA actor has starred include Rise: Blood Hunter (2007), The Cabin in the Woods (2011), Much Ado About Nothing (2012), Lust for Love (2013), The Truth About Lies (2015), Mojave (2015), Rebirth (2016), The Dark Tower (2017) and Jungleland(2019).

As for Fran Kranz’s TV roles, we could confidently state that it all began in 2009 when he began to play the main role in Dollhouse. He starred in 27 episodes of the TV show as Topher Brink between 2009 and 2010. His role in the film has given him somewhat his highest recognition thus far.
