Frank Kaminsky is a talented American basketball play-maker who plays the position of power forward/center for the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA. He was drafted from the University of Wisconsin as the ninth overall selection in the first round of the 2015 NBA draft.
Born as Francis Stanley Kaminsky III in 1993, the amazing player celebrates his birthday on the 4th day of April every year. He was born in Winfield, Illinois to Serbian American parents Frank Kaminsky and his wife Mary Kaminsky. His father was a former basketball player for Lewis University basketball team; while his mother played volleyball for the Northwestern University. When Frank was five, his uncle and the wife worked for the Chicago Bulls while the likes of Randy Brown and were still on the team. This made Frank have access to the Bulls’ training facilities.
Having developed a strong passion for the game as a kid; Kaminsky enrolled at Benet Academy where he began his youth career. Playing under coach Gene Heidkamp, Frank led the Benet basketball team to maintain a 24 – 4 overall record in the 2009/10 season. He got all-conference, all-state, and all-area conference honors after having an average of 10.0 rebounds and 13 points per game during his junior season. Frank continued making ginat strides in his senior year; thus averaging 8.7 rebounds and 14.2 points per game that season. He got an All-State first team selection while being honored with the East Suburban Catholic Conference Player of the Year award. His jersey number 44 was retired by the school in 2017.
After an impressive high school career, the talented basketballer joined the Badgers of the University of Wisconsin for his college career. As a freshman in the 2011/12 season, Kaminsky featured in 35 games for the Wisconsin Badgers having 1.4 rebounds and 1.8 points per game. The following year, Frank had an average of 1.8 rebounds and 4.2 points per game.
In his junior year, Kaminsky led his team to the final four of the NCAA tournament, while averaging 6.3 rebounds and 13.9 points per game. By the end of the season, he was selected to the All-Big Ten first team by the coaches and media; while he received NCAA West Region Most Outstanding Player of the Year Award for his excellent performances. In the last season of his college career, he won the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award; National College Player of the Year Award, and Big Ten Player of the Year award. He also won the Big Ten Tournament MVP after averaging 8.2 rebounds and 18.8 points per game in the 2014/15 season.

Frank Kaminsky joined the 2015 NBA draft where he was chosen by the Charlotte Hornets as the ninth overall selection in the draft. Joining the Hornets, Kaminsky penned his rookie contract on 2nd July 2015. In his rookie season, Frank got a more playing time following the absence of Al Jefferson who was injured. He averaged 4.1 rebounds and 7.5 points per game by the end of the season.
During the 2016/17 season, the Hornets big man showed a lot of improvement; thus scoring 4.5 rebounds and 11.7 points per game while making 75 appearances for the Hornets. The following season, Frank netted a season-high score of 24 points in their triumph over Minnesota Timberwolves. At the end of the 2017/18 season, he notched 3.6 rebounds and 11.1 points per game.
