A first-generation Cuban-American, Sabrina Soto was born in Miami, Florida, on 27th December 1975. Her father, Roberto FE Soto, is a teacher and media professional. His job has taken him to various media outlets like The Washington Post, NBC News, and he also served as the NY bureau chief of Associated Press TV and because of this, his family moved around a lot. Her mother, Maria Elena Soto, on the other hand, used to run a home decorating and staging business where Sabrina used to help out and also learned the ropes while assisting her mom. Sabrina later toed her mother’s path and started her own business as a designer while also working as a licensed realtor.
In 2006, while going through Craigslist, she saw an advert for a designer with real estate experience – the perfect combination for her. She apparently applied for the job which led to her HGTV gig. She has hosted several shows for the network, including The High/Low Project, Get It Sold, and Bang For Your Buck, among other appearances.
Her Latin background rubbed off on her style of design which is always popping with hearty colors. Asides HGTV, Sabrina Soto is now a regular design consultant on various popular shows. She has been on The Show, Good Morning America, Today, The Rachel Ray Show, and The View, among others. When Trading Spaces made a TV comeback on TLC in 2018, Sabrina Soto joined other designers to feature on the show. Her parents – Roberto FE Soto and Maria Elena Soto are both Cuban-born Americans who raised their children in the United States of America. However, they didn’t fail to teach Sabrina and her sister, Natasha, to be proud of their heritage. Sadly, her parents divorced when she was 4.
The designer is yet to get married but she has a daughter from a previous relationship with a man identified as Steve Grevemberg. Her daughter, Olivia Gray, was born in 2015 to the former couple and Soto was very generous with details of her birth, from the pregnancy to her first experience with motherhood. A self-proclaimed open book, the designer took to her Instagram on December 5, 2018, to explain why Steve has been absent from her posts in the past few months. According to her long and revealing post, they are no longer together but she didn’t go into details about the reason for the split.
