She has served as a correspondent for Today, and ABC’s hit morning show, Good Morning America. Sara Haines is married to Max Shifrin, a US attorney. The couple met on a free online dating site, OkCupid. Her brother and her best friend had helped her set up a profile and it wasn’t long before Shifrin sent a message across. Due to a busy schedule, Haines had to cancel their first date, however, she was available for drinks. They met up and had drinks at a bar, coincidentally, Haines’ brother also happened to be there with a date having drinks so it turned out to be a group date.
Of her first impression on meeting Max, Sara told Brides.com that she didn’t immediately know if he was the one, but she just knew that she did want to see him again. That was in 2012. They moved in together in 2013 and 9 months after living together, Max popped the question. They got married on the 22nd of November 2014 in The Bahamas.
Haines’ husband Max Shifrin earned a B.A. in History and Political Science in 2005 from the University of Connecticut. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2010 from Brooklyn Law School. As a law student, Max worked as a student prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Following law school graduation, Max worked at Fred Frank as an associate from 2011 to 2013. He then joined Storch Amini & Munves where he worked for a little over a year.
New York firm, Baker Hostetler in 2014 hired Max to work on “complex commercial litigation.” Max represents a variety of clients including individual clients from vast industries, large institutions as well as small businesses.
Sara and her husband welcomed their first child, a son named Alec Richard Shifrin on March 5, 2016. The child’s birth was announced through Periscope. Baby Alec weighed in at 7 lbs 5 ounces. On December 23, 2017, the couple welcomed their daughter Sandra Grace Shifrin, named after Sara’s mother. Announcing the baby’s arrival via Instagram, Sara revealed that she weighed 7 pounds and 2 ounces.
