Yaris Sanchez’s past may be checkered but it has all over it the telltale signs of a hustler. The lady from the Dominican Republic has had to work her heart out trying to survive and make her own America dream a reality. Her time in the United States has seen her work as a bartender, a model, a video vixen, and a stripper.
Yaris who could not depend solely on her mother for her financial needs was plunged into a more dire circumstance when she became a young mother in her early teenage years. Sanchez was born Yarisenia Sanchez in the Dominican Republic on February 11, 1991. Growing up, Yaris has always been interested in a career as an actress. She enrolled at The High School of Fashion Industries in her adolescent years. However, seeing as her mother was unable to fully support her studies, young Yaris had to take up part-time employment to finance her schooling. At the time she was in a relationship with a boy whose name is unknown. When she was 15 years old, she got pregnant by her boyfriend and had to juggle the added responsibility of motherhood with her schooling. Yaris Sanchez also started working on a part-time basis at a place called The Children’s Place.
By the time she was 17, she had developed an interest in video modeling since it was closely related to her dream career of acting. Around the same time, her high school won a prom contest organized by Seventeen Magazine. This win made her high school a hot spot for celebrities in the music business like Kid Cudi performing at the event. Unable to find a day job and at the suggestion of a friend of hers who worked as a stripper, Yaris Sanchez started stripping too to be able to fend for her young child. She was just 18 when she became a stripper.
However, in 2009, luck shone on Yaris when she responded to an ad on Craigslist that was looking for dancers to feature in the music video of the remix version of Rockin’ That Thang by singer and record producer, The Dream. The video featured other high-profile emcees in the industry like Juelz Santana,, Fabolous, and . Her involvement in this video opened the door to other opportunities. The next year, Yaris Sanchez was on the music video for Trey Songz’ Bottoms Up featuring Nicki Minaj. In 2012, she also starred in French Montana’s Shot Caller.
Sanchez’s past as a stripper and video vixen has made people push her into a stereotype that she believes doesn’t define who she truly is. Yarisenia was born in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Yaris’s mother took her and moved to the US when she was just three years old. During the relocation, her mother had to leave Yaris’s siblings behind because she knew she wouldn’t be able to cater for them upon arrival in the United States. Only after she and Yaris had settled in New York City did she bring her other children into the country.
Yaris Sanchez and her family lived in a neighborhood in New York populated with Dominicans. This helped to smoothen her transition into a new country. To be able to attend The High School of Fashion, she had to relocate to The Bronx.
Whether rumored or confirmed, Yaris Sanchez has been reported to have dated a few A-list rappers in her time as a dancer.
