Upon arrival, she meets a Norwegian farmer Olaf Torvik, who is a fellow immigrant. After Olaf’s parents concluded plans for the two to marry, the problem arises when Inge doesn’t have proper papers. Despite being unwed, the couple continues to live and farm together amid several red flags from the people of the town.

Although Alex Kingston played a minor role in this film, the movie received a critical claim for its storyline.
