Zain Asher Biography
On 27 August 1983, Zain Ejiofor Asher was born to a Nigerian medical doctor living in England named Arinze, and his wife who worked as a pharmacist, Obiajulu, in Forest Gate, London, England. She is the younger sister of actor .
During a family trip to Nigeria in 1988, when Asher was 5, her brother and father were driving to Lagos when they had an accident that led to the death of her father, while her brother was left with injuries on his forehead that are still visible today.
Despite the tragic incident, Asher was still able to carry on with her life by receiving the best education available. She attended Keble College, Oxford University, where she obtained a degree in Spanish and French, before moving to New York to enroll at Columbia University, where she studied Journalism.
Before she joined CNN, Zain Asher worked with Forbes.com, covering business trend and consumer stories. After that, she spent a couple of years with News 12 for which she covered the local economy, as well as political and cultural issues in Connecticut, Brooklyn, and The Bronx. In addition to that, she worked as a reporter for The Guadalajara Reporter when she was based in Mexico. There, she also worked as a freelance associate producer for a local radio station, Universidad de Guadalajara.
After working with numerous other media houses, including Money, for which she wrote personal finance articles, Asher joined CNN in 2013 and became a regular face on issues relating to money and the economy. Fluent in Spanish, French, and Igbo, she has worked in different parts of the world, including Nigeria, France, and Mexico.

In 2017, Zain Asher got married to her husband, Steve Peoples in New York. While it is not known how long the two knew each other and dated before getting married, it is known that they got engaged sometime in April 2016.
Just like Asher, Peoples is also a media personality who works with AP as a political reporter. Not much is further known about the ethnically white American, other than that he has a twin sister who was born 5 minutes before him.

As earlier stated, Zain Ejiofor Asher is the younger sister of actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, who was born 6 years before her, on 10 July 1977 in Forest Gate, London. Ejiofor is a celebrated theater, film, and TV actor who has won many awards, including the British Academy Film Awards for his role in 12 Years a Slave which also earned him an Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards nomination.
Zain and her brother are very close. When he was nominated for an Oscars in 2014, she broke down in tears while she was talking about him and all the effort he has put into his craft since he was 13. She also revealed that it was a day that the entire family had been waiting for. Although many had favored him to win the award, he lost it to who also won both the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Awards that year.
Zain Asher and Chiwetel Ejiofor are undoubtedly the popular ones in their family, however, they also have a sister named Kandibe Ejiofor who is a medical doctor. Zain further revealed that she has other brothers, although there is nothing known about them.
