She was born and raised in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, England, to a former bank manager father, Barrie Mawby and Christine Mawby, a former NHS wheelchair advisor. Her father passed away on October 3, 2018, aged 80. Demi was born on March 27, 1995, into a middle-class family.
Growing up, she was a shy girl with low self-confidence and the bullies at her school never did spare her. She attended New Oscott Primary School and John Willmott High School in Sutton Coldfield. She later went on to study health and beauty therapy at Walsall College. It was at college that she began to gain confidence in herself and started pursuing her dream career in modeling.
Shortly after she graduated from Walsall College, Demi Mawby moved to the United States after receiving an invitation to do promotion works with Taz’s Angels.
