Among the slew of thespians who started acting even before they could talk, John Francis Daley has since grown his craft to transcend acting and extend to other areas like screenwriting. He is also a film director, producer and has a few exploits as a musician.

Daley (father) and Nancy Daley (mother) who plays and teaches piano, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Daley picked interest in the arts from a very tender age. In his middle school in Nyack New York, he played the role of Danny in the school’s production of Grease.
While he was born in Wheeling, Illinois, Daley was raised in New York. His father and mother are from Irish Catholic and Jewish backgrounds respectively.
John Francis Daley has been active in the industry since 1998. His first appearance was as the Young Tommy in the Broadway hit The Who’s Tommy. From 1999 to 2000, he portrayed the role of Sam Weir in the television series Freaks and Geeks. He also has to his credit, TV series like The Geena Davis Show, Boston Public, Bones, Judging Amy, Spin City a slew of others.
In other aspects of his career in the entertainment industry, Daley was a co-director of a short film What Babies Do in 2001. He equally wrote and starred in the short comedy Friday Night and co-wrote an episode of Bones (which he starred in) alongside his writing partner Jonathan Goldstein. Daley’s character on Fox drama series Bones was killed to allow the actor some time to focus on directing movies.
Joining forces with his writing partner, Daley penned the black comedy Horrible Bosses in 2011 and in 2013, they teamed up once again to write The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. The same year, they were hired to write Call of the Wild for DreamWorks Studios.
Together, the talented duo also wrote and directed the 2015 film Vacation with stars like Ed Helms and Christina Applegate making the cast. Along with four other screenwriters who joined their team, Daley and Goldstein put together the screenplay for the 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming, the film was met with rave reviews and was a commercial hit. Daley and his partner Jonathan Goldstein would have directed the movie, but Jon Watts was later hired to do the job. Notwithstanding, they have directed a few movies and are still raking in more.
While Daley hasn’t paid much attention to his musical skills, he has made an appearance in Abandoned Pools’ music video for “Mercy Kiss”. He has also featured on the #94 spot on VH1’s 100 Greatest Teen Stars earlier in his career.
