Talk about female wrestlers who have not ceased to amaze the world with their prowess and talents in a field otherwise known to be dominated by males, and Sarona Moana-Marie Reiher Snuka-Polamalu known by her ring name Tamina Snuka would no doubt be counted in. She is an American professional wrestler signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and performing on the Smackdown brand.
The WWE diva did not actually start out early in the arena; she joined after going through a divorce and in the third decade of her life. She may not have won a title yet, but has proven to be a force to reckon with in the ring, whether by overpowering her opponents in singles competition or acting as a strong backing for other female wrestlers. Little wonder she was ranked 19 of the top 50 female wrestlers in the PWI Female 50 in 2012 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
Tamina Snuka’s Bio
Tamina is a descendant of the Fijian professional wrestler, Jimmy Snuka. Her father was a Hall of Famer and actor known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF now WWE). The second generation wrestler, Tamina was born in Vancouver, Washington, the United States on January 10, 1978. She is of mixed ancestry going by her Japanese, Fijian and Samoan roots. Being born into a family where wrestling is revered and pursued, it wasn’t surprising that she chose the profession.
Her father was married three times in his lifetime and his second wife, Sharon Georgi is the mother of his four children including Sarona, her brother James Jr. who was also a professional wrestler and was known as Deuce or Sim Snuka, and sisters Ata and Liana.

Her Wrestling Career
Tamina first began wrestling, following the footsteps of her famous father and brother into the world of professional wrestling in 2009 which was after she received the first Lia Maivia Scholarship to train at the Wild Samoan Training Center in Minneola, Florida. She signed to WWE in late 2009 and was assigned to its developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling in 2010.
She made her wrestling debut in May 2010 as a heel (villainous character) on an episode of Raw alongside the The Usos (Jimmy and Jey) against the Hart Dynasty (David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd, and Natalya) and her singles debut against Natalya in June of the same year ended in a no contest. Tamina has gone on to compete in other platforms of WWE such as NXT and SmackDown on which she defeated the two-time women champion, Natalya in January 2012. The victory against Natalya spurred her on to further victories though mostly in tag teams.
Apart from fighting in tag teams and acting as valets for other wrestlers, she also took on the role as Divas Champion AJ Lee’s bodyguard in 2013. Moreover, Tamina Snuka fought as a member of the female wrestling group Team B.A.D (Beautiful and Dangerous) made up of herself, Naomi and . The team disbanded in May 2016. She also fought in WrestleMania and WWE Divas Championship.
Her Love Life
The WWE Diva has been married once upon a time in her life. She was the wife of Brandon Polamalu from 1995 to 2003 with whom she has two daughters, Milaneta and Maleata.
She supposedly had a relationship with fellow wrestler, Santino Marella after she started flirting with him in August 2010. Following the rumor of their dating, Tamina acted in ways that lent credence to their alleged romance by assisting Santino on occasion to avert an attack against him by The Usos. She also joined him to celebrate his victory over Zack Ryder in October 2010 as well as making a backstage appearance with Santino and Vladimir Kozlov in a November 2010 episode of Raw where she serenaded and kissed him.
Additionally, she began an on-screen relationship with Santino, accompanying him and his partner as well as becoming their official valet. They had also fought in a mixed tag team where they won against Maryse and Ted DiBiase Jr.
She is an Actress
Although wrestling can be accredited as acting of some sort, and Tamina Snuka having featured in a number of episodes could take up the title of an actress, she has actually acted. She made her acting debut in the 2014 film, Hercules, alongside and has appeared in a few episodes of some TV shows such as Total Divas and WWE Tough Enough as herself.
