Brief Bio
The American professional ice hockey player was born on December 23, 1986, in Mount Vernon, Washington. He was raised in Everett, north of Seattle with three siblings Aleah, Taylor and Tawni. At the tender age of five, Oshie was already playing on ice at the Junior Hockey Association in Seattle where he put in ten years. He lived with his mother Tina in Stanwood after his parents got divorced and consequently attended the Stanwood High School for his freshman year.
In the year 2002, The ice hockey player relocated to Warroad, Minnesota to live with his dad Tim and his dad’s cousin. While in Minnesota, he went to Warroad High School where he became popular as a star player on the hockey team for three seasons. In 2003 and 2005, The budding ice hockey champion led the club to two Minnesota State Class A titles and also made the All-Tournament Team in the state for three years.
He led all Minnesota high school players in scoring 100 points, consisting of 37 goals and 63 assists in 31 games as a senior, a feat which got him named to the 2005 Pioneer Press and Associated Press All-State First Team. He finished as a Minnesota Mr Hockey Finalist.
His career as an ice hockey player started properly at the completion of high school. From 2004 to 2005 after he completed his senior seasons with the warriors, he moved to the United States Hockey League (USHL) and joined the Sioux Falls Stampede for 11 games. Oshie was selected as the 24th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft in the offseasons.

TJ Oshie was brought up alongside three siblings namely Aleah, Taylor and Tawni. According to an interview held in 2009, the name “T.J.” came from his mother Tina. She came to like the name after watching the movie The Champ, according to her, her son reminded her of the son of the main character who was named T.J. Flyin. After his parents’ amicable divorce, Oshie lived with his mother in Stanwood but in 2002, he moved to Warroad, Minnesota which was where his parents originated from and lived with his father Tim along with his dad’s cousin.
Oshie’s love life can be described as a simple one. On the 25th of July 2015, he got married to his long-time girlfriend Lauren Cosgrove. TJ Oshie and Laurens’ courtship lasted for a very long time, long enough for them to have had a cute 16-month-old daughter named Lyla who according to sources walked the father down the aisle on his wedding day. After their wedding, the couple had another daughter called Rose.
The wedding which took place in Minnesota was well attended by family and teammates. Although the location for their honeymoon is not known, the couple is living in marital bliss and divorce is not on the plate for them. Oshie can be described as a typical family man, he is seen by his wife as a caring partner, his children see him as a loving father, he is supportive to his siblings and to his parents, he is an obedient son.
