Timothy Olyphant, popularly known as Sheriff Seth Bullock in the television series Deadwood is an American actor whose journey in the entertainment industry dates back to 1995 when he started in the theatre. Timothy Olyphant

Timothy whose full name is Timothy David Olyphant was born on in Honolulu, Hawaii to J.V. Bevan; father and Katherine Olyphant as his mother. His father in his more active days was the vice president of production at Gallo Winery. He has two siblings; an older brother known as Andrew and a younger one called Mathew.

At the tender age of two, his family moved to Modesto, California where he had much of his growing up, but they would later separate due to agreeing on a divorce when Timothy was a teenager. In his family, he comes from an ancestry which includes all of English, German, Dutch, Irish, Jewish, Scottish and Russian descent.

He schooled at Modesto’s Fred C. Beyer High School and as a young child, he enjoyed art and drawing but loathed acting as he felt embarrassed by it. Timothy also had a penchant for aquatic sports as he swam competitively in different swimming competitions throughout his childhood. For his swimming prowess, he emerged a finalist in the 200m Individual Medley1986 National swimming competition. This got USC Trojans swimming coach Peter Daland to come asking for him and he was subsequently recruited by the University of Southern California where he studied fine arts.

By 1990, he graduated and moved to New York to consider other career options aside working as a swimming coach at Irvine Novaquatics and as a commercial artist. He picked up stand-up comedy and after some time, decided to do it with more commitment. Having set his mind doing stand-up comedy and actually doing it well, he fell in love with acting and began to consider it as a possible career path. In furtherance of this, Timothy Olyphant enrolled for a two-year acting training at New York’s William Esper Studio sequel to which he began auditioning for roles.

 A Brief On Timothy Olyphant’s Career Beginnings And His Awards

He got his first paid acting job in the year 1995 in a WB television pilot on 77 Sunset Strip. Later the same year, he was in the cast of The Monogamist which became his debut professional Off-Broadway appearance. He continued to work on more films and television series from 1995 to the present time. There was no year that passed and saw him not working on either a film, theatre play or television series.

For his hard work and exceptional talent in the visual entertainment industry, he has been recognised severally and has some awards to show for it. They include – 1996 Theatre World Award for Outstanding Debut Performance in The Monogamist, in the year 2000, he won the Young Hollywood Award in the category of Best Bad Boy for his role in the project Go. Timothy, in the year 2011 which he had his most nominations, won the Satellite Award for Best Actor in a Series, Drama for his role in Justified, while in the not so distant 2016, he won the 2016 6th Critics’ Choice Television Awards as Best Guest Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series titled The Grinder.

Indeed, this gentleman actor has stood out and made a name for himself amongst a crowd of others in the industry. His story is remarkable because he is being handsomely rewarded today for doing what he felt was “embarrassing” to do as a kid.

Before his marriage to his sweetheart, Timothy suffered from a fair share of controversy that trailed him about his sexuality. However, since he got married and has gone on to produce kids with his wife, the nasty question died a natural death. Timothy Olyphant is therefore not gay.

He married his college girlfriend  at age 23 in a private wedding ceremony which had only their loved ones in attendance in the month of July 1991. The public got to know that he was married when he was spotted wearing his wedding ring and the question of who his wife was, quickly arose. In no distant time, her identity was revealed.

According to Timothy, much of his success in his career is credited to his wife who has been very supportive. It was further revealed that she helps him to extensively rehearse his roles as well as in wording his speech for public events.

The couple lives in Westwood, Los Angeles and has three children together. Their first child named Grace Katherine was born in 1999 and was followed by Henry who was born in the year 2001 and lastly, their daughter Vivian was born in 2003.
