She is the Japanese blogger who posted a video on January 2, 2018, in reaction to filmed on December 31, 2017, in Japan’s Aokigahara forest known for a high number of suicides and referred to as suicide forest.
Scully showed an in-depth knowledge in the tradition of her people by explaining that cremation is an important part of death in Japanese culture, the significance of December 31 for the Japanese and that Aokigahara is not a tourist attraction, as Paul made it out to be. She stated that he doesn’t really respect the Japanese as a people but views them as caricatures. However, actions and its fallout have not affected the way the Japanese see foreigners.
Her post, was, however, met with abuse from Paul’s fanbase while many others viewed their comments as an example of toxic behavior that needs to be discouraged.
