Perrie Edwards is a British singer best known as a member of the ace girl group that was formed during the 8th season of X Factor UK in 2011. The group went on to win the competition making them the first group ever to do so.
Since winning the competition, Perrie alongside her bandmates have garnered a lot of attention from the media as they continue to churn out records yearly.

Edwards was born as Perrie Louise Edwards on July 10, 1993, in South Shields, Tyne & Wear, England, UK. Her parents Alexander Edwards and Deborah Duffy who are both music lovers named her after Steve Perry from the band, Journey. She has an older brother named Jonnie as well as a younger half-sister Caitlin Edwards whom her father had with another woman.
Perrie was born without a sense of smell. She once spoke about it in an interview saying “I have never smelt anything, but I think I smelt coffee once. When people go, ‘Ah she’s cooking a Sunday roast’, I’m like, how do you know that? I’m like, this is amazing, it’s like magic.”
However, her inability to smell didn’t kill the star in her. Perrie began singing from a very young age. For her primary education, she attended Radipole Primary School in Weymouth, Dorset but later transferred to St. Peter and Paul RC Primary School where she graduated.
She attended Mortimer Community College where she studied performance arts. After five years, she transferred to Newcastle College where she finally graduated, earning a BTEC (Extended Diploma) in Performing Arts.
Edwards individually auditioned for the 8th season of X Factor UK and was successful. However, she was unable to scale through the first challenge of the bootcamp section, as a result, she was teamed up with four other girls to form a group Rhythmix.
After a few changes to the group, Perrie alongside three other girls Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson became remained as part of the group through to the live shows.
They later had to change their name to Little Mix upon a request by Rhythmix, an already existing children’s music charity in Brighton.
Little Mix received generally rave reviews throughout the season’s run and ultimately emerged as winners. They signed with Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and have so far recorded tremendous success. They have broken records set by America’s Pussycat Dolls and Britains’ Spice Girls. Having sold over 40 million records worldwide, they have become one of the best-selling girl groups of all time.

During her time on X Factor, Perrie met One Direction singer . The pair soon began dating attracting huge media attention. Their relationship looked like it would last forever when they got engaged in 2013, unfortunately by August 2015 the two had gone separate ways in a split that generated a huge media interest.
Malik moved on to supermodel Gigi Hadid (they broke up in 2016) while Perrie was subsequently linked with a number of guys including Jed Elliot, Skins actor, Luke Pasqualino.
In late 2016, she began a relationship with England football star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. However, they initially kept their relationship under wraps. Sources close to the songbird told tabloids that her privacy with the relationship was due to the heavy media interest her split from Zayn Malik generated.
They (Alex and Perrie) didn’t even follow each other on social media. However, time passed and in January 2017, she posted her first photo of Alex on her Instagram page, confirming the rumors.
Since then, they have each taken turns to post about each other on their respective social media pages and fans can’t help but imagine them becoming the next David and Victoria Beckham.
“I have a boyfriend and his name is Alex. He plays for Arsenal. He’s very cute and hot… and sexy,” Perrie gushed about her boyfriend who was then playing for Arsenal.
He joined Liverpool in August 2017. Chamberlain’s move meant that the pair would have to be in a long-distance relationship. However, Perrie told Mirror that it won’t be a problem saying; “I don’t think it will be difficult. It’s going to be different – but that’s not a problem,” she said.
