Hollywood hunk John Felix Anthony Cena Jr popularly known as John Cena is a WWE star, rapper, actor and a reality TV presenter. Perhaps one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time, just a few stars in the industry can hold a candle to Cena whose career as a pro wrestler has seen greater heights.
John Cena Bio, Sisters
The multi-talented star was born on April 23, 1977, in West Newbury, Massachusetts, the United States of America to Carol Cena ( mother) and John Cena Sr (father). He is the second oldest of his 5 brothers – Dan, Matt, Steve and Sean. While Cena’s dad hails from Italy, his mom is of English and French-Canadian descent.
After graduating from high school, Cena proceeded to Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts where he participated in the varsity football team wearing the number 54. He graduated from college in 1998 with a degree in exercise physiology and body movement which he followed up with a career in bodybuilding. This kind of attaches more sense to his very robust ensemble.
His professional wrestling career which made him a household name started in 1999 when he began training at Ultimate Pro Wrestling’s (UPW) California-based Ultimate University operated by Rick Bassman. While his career as a pro wrestler started officially in the 1990s, Cena became a fan favourite when he joined Angle as a member of his team at Survivor Series, where he and Chris Benoit were the survivors.
Cena’s acting career kicked off with a bang in 2006 when WWE Studios, a division of WWE which produces and finances motion pictures, produced his first movie, The Marine. The movie which was distributed theatrically by 20th Century Fox America on October 13, 2006, made approximately US$7 million at the United States box office in its first week. It continued to rake in the millions and after ten weeks in theatres, the film grossed $18.7 million and went on to make $30 million in rentals in the first twelve weeks of its release on DVD.
John Cena also appeared in several other movies including – 12 Rounds (2009), Legendary (2010). In 2015, he made appearances in movies – Trainwreck, Sisters and cameo appearance in Daddy’s Home. He also hosted several reality series.
Arguably one of the most successful and most searched professional wrestlers in the world, John Cena has also proved to be very successful as a rapper as well as an actor. He’s signed to WWE and performs on the SmackDown brand under his ring name, John Cena.

In April 2017, WWE stars John Cena and Nikki Bella finished off their opponents The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania 33 by taking their relationship to the next level. Nevertheless, it wasn’t the sound of a SmackDown that got fans screaming with excitement, but the fact that Cena surprised everyone when he got down on one knee and proposed to his longtime girlfriend Nikki Bella.
The duo decided to take on what could be their biggest challenge yet -Marriage right in front of 70 000 fans.
In a scene out of Hollywood, 40-year-old WWE star Jonh Cena and his partner Nikki Bella treated fans to a romantic moment right after winning their match.
Notwithstanding, this will not be Cena’s first time getting married as he has an ex-wife, Elizabeth Huberdeau. The pair were high school sweethearts before taking it to the next level.
John Cena and Elizabeth Huberdeau walked down the aisle on July 11th, 2009. Three years later, in May 2012, Cena filed for divorce, ending their 3-year union. At the time, Elizabeth Huberdeau said that she believes John Cena was cheating on her, an allegation which is yet to be confirmed.
As far as Cena’s sexuality is concerned, there’s no indication that he’s gay. His past marriage and relationships have been with women, thus, the conclusion.
John Cena Kids, Son
Apparently, being a big fan of kids doesn’t mean you would be in a hurry to have them. The 40-year-old wrestler-turned-actor said he currently does not have babies on the cards as he prepares to walk down the aisle with Nikki Bella.
In fact, he seems to be ruling out the possibility of having kids in the future. Elaborating more on this fact, John told Us Weekly; “No, right now it hasn’t changed. I can barely raise myself, so I just don’t know how good a dad I’ll be. I guess that’s my biggest fear. I know it’s a natural human progression to want to have kids, but right now, I’m just focused on what’s in front of me.”
Nikki is comfortable with this decision.
