Phill Lewis’ tale is often told from several angles which revolve around his career, the value of his wealth, his family, daughter and of course, the manslaughter he committed while driving drunk. If you know anything about him, it is probably, his portrayal of Mr Marion Moseby in the 2005 situation comedy created by Danny Kallis and Jim Geoghan – The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
He was the unyielding but caring manager of the Tipton Hotel in the series which gathered over 4 million viewers and went on to become the most successful premiere of the year for Disney Channel. His use of big words and catchphrases like “Pish posh” and “Good luck with that” earned him the admiration of viewers.
Lewis’ Career Brief
Apart from being a major cast in the Disney Channel series which was thrice nominated for both the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award and Emmy Award, Phill is known for his many film and television roles which date back to 1986. In the said year, he respectively appeared as Parker and Ken in Hill Street Blues and 227. One year later, he played Dennis in Heathers – a black comedy film. This was followed by his portrayal of Herman in 1989’s How I Got Into College and Dr Steven Jessup in 1991’s City Slickers.
In addition to the above, Phill Lewis between 1995 and 1998, played a recurring role (T.C) in The Wayans Bros. He also did the same between 2001 and 2006 as Roy on the CBS sitcom – Yes, Dear. Meanwhile, his other major works include his Teech Gibson lead role in Teech (1991) and his Arnold Nixon main role in 1994’s Hardball. That’s not all; Lewis was one of the main characters in the spin-off of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody titled The Suite Life on Deck. This was between 2008 and 2011. Again, he got to act as a major character – Special Agent Wolfie – from 2009 to 2012 in Special Agent Oso.
Phill Lewis isn’t only regarded as just an actor. He is also known as a director and comedian.
Phill Lewis Bio, Family
The American actor and director will celebrate his 50th birth anniversary in 2018. He was born in Uganda as Phillip Akon Lewis. That was on the 4th day of September 1968.
From what we gathered, his father, Delano Eugene Lewis – the former United States Ambassador to South Africa (1999-2001) was working as the Peace Corps associate and country director for Nigeria and Uganda when Phill was birthed.
While we are yet to substantiate claims about Jessica Lewis being Phill’s former spouse, we know that the veteran actor is married to Megan Benton Lewis. Phill has three brothers: Delano, Jr. Lewis, Brian and Geoffrey Lewis. His dad has been married to his mum, Gayle Carolyn Jones since 1960.

Sometime in January 1993, Phill Lewis was sentenced to a year in jail after he was convicted of manslaughter for killing a woman while driving drunk. His victim was a 21-year-old nanny from Portugal, .
He also received another one-year jail sentence for the drunk driving charge against him, and two years of probation with 350 hours of community service. Altogether, Phill was sentenced to five years in prison. However, four years was suspended because of his activities with a prison theatre troupe after he was arrested.
