The popular quote “Jack of all trades, master of none” is used to characterize a person who has his hands into many ventures but with little or no success in any of them. This cannot in any way be related to Steve-O who happens to be a “Jack of all trades, master of all”. Stephen Gilchrist Glover who goes by the stage name Steve-O, is a popular actor, producer, stunt performer, stand-up comedian, musician, author, clown, and all-round entertainer. He is quite famous for his stunt performances on American TV comedy reality series franchise “Jackass” and its follow-up series “Wildboyz”.
Steve-O’s Bio
Steve-O was born Stephen Gilchrist Glover on June 13th, 1974 in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom. Stephen spent most of his childhood moving from one place to another, mostly in Southern America and the United States of America. He spent about 2 years in both Brazil and Venezuela due to his father’s job as President of the South American division of Pepsi-Cola brand.
The then 4-year old Stephen Glover moved to America with his family, this time, settling in Connecticut. He barely stayed 2 years there before he had to move to Miami, Florida. In 1983, Steve-O moved back to his birth country, England, spending just 3 years before moving again to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Growing up, Stephen Gilchrist was a passionate fan of American Rock band, Motley Crue. He relocated back to London at age 13, where he was enrolled at the prestigious The American School in London. The stand-up comedian attended both the University of Miami and the University of New Mexico, spending just a year at both universities.
He later enrolled in the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in Florida, graduating in 1997. As he didn’t make the selection into the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, he decided to find work as a clown at the Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop in the Flea Market Circus in Florida. He recorded his performances and stunts while he was there.
Jeff Tremaine, the editor of Big Brother magazine and director of “Jackass” franchise, recruited Steve-O to feature on the TV series after watching his recorded stunts and clown performances. He starred in all five box office hit movies of the Jackass series. Volume one of “Don’t Try This at Home” was released in 2001, selling over 100,000 D.V.D copies. Shortly after, volume two was released, featuring the performances of the stunts Steve did while on tour. It was titled “Don’t Try This at Home Volume 2: The Tour”.
The controversial actor did a European tour with Jackass co-star Brandon Cole Margera, popularly known as Bam Margera, in 2003. He also starred in American TV series, “Wildboyz” alongside stunt performer and actor Chris Pontius. In 2007, he featured in his own American reality TV series, “Dr. Steve-O”. In 2008, after a long absence owing to his psychiatric, mental and drug use problems, he appeared on the popular “Dancing with the Stars” show on its 8th season. He and Lacey Schwimmer were paired together but got evicted from the show in the sixth week.
The talented showman has done lots of tours, most especially his American and Australian tour and has appeared in other movies, D.V.D releases, Web series, Video games, and TV series.

Steve-O has been married twice, first to Candy-Jane Tucker from 2002 to 2003 and secondly to Brittany McGraw from 2006 to 2008. In January 2018, the stand-up comedian, in front of his Jackass friends, closest friends, dad, and sister, proposed to his girlfriend, Lux Wright, after the end of a comedy special he was filming in Denver with his Jackass co-stars. Lux, a photographer, stylist, and visual artist, was born in California in the late 80s.
