Facts About Trevor Ariza and His NBA Career
Born on June 30, 1985, Trevor Ariza’s career as a basketballer has spanned from 2004 to date. He went professional after the NBA draft in 2004 when he was lucky to be one of those selected by the New York Knicks and eventually, Trevor Ariza set a record as the youngest player to ever wear the New York Knicks jersey and play for the team. He played in 80 games with an average of 5.9 points per game. At the time of his admission into the Knicks Team, he was exactly 19 years, four months and four days old.
In February 2006, just two years after the debut of his professional career, Trevor and his colleague Penny Hardaway were traded to another basketball team – Orlando Magic in exchange for Steve Francis. The veteran basketballer played 21 games with an average of 4.7 points for each game.
It appears, Trevor did not stay long with Orlando Magic because in November 2007, barely a year after he joined the team, he was again, traded to the Los Angeles Lakes team, however, he had a bone injury in his right foot that made him miss several of his matches with the Lakes. Here, Trevor Ariza recorded 26 points in a match against the Dallas Mavericks with Utah Jazz which was a career high point. Also, he was a team member of the Laker when they won the 2009 NBA Championship.
The celebrated basketballer signed with the team Houston Rockets for over five years with a worth of $33 million on the 3rd of July 2009. In a 111-107 win, Trevor scored a career-high point of 33 in a match against the Portland Trail Blazers on October 31st, 2009. Unfortunately, the basketball superstar was ejected on December 13th, 2009 following his conscious attempt to punch DeMar DeRozan from the opponent’s team Toronto Raptors after he stole the ball from him. His punishment for the offence was a suspension for one game but he made up for it in the Rockets’ final game of the season on April 14, 2010, where he recorded his first career triple-double.
The baller was traded to New Orleans Hornets on the 11th day of August 2010 as part of a four-team, five-player trade with Courtney Lee going over to Houston, James Posey and Darren Collison going with the Indiana Pacers team, and finally with Troy Murphy moving over to the New Jersey Nets. It is on record that Trevor Ariza logged a lot of career high points in minutes per game but luck wasn’t on their side because the Los Angeles Lakers defeated them in six games in the first round.
Trevor was once again traded to the Washington Wizards with Emeka Okafor in exchange for Rashard Lewis on the 20th day of June 2012. During his time with the Wizards, he recorded several career highs in matches against Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers and Chicago Bulls. Subsequently, the famous basketballer was acquired by the Houston Rockets for the second time on the 15th day of July 2014 and has been with the team to date.
