Another all-around athlete like many before him, Mike Daniels played more than just football in high school and excelled at all the sports he was involved in. Mike who captained his high school football on more than one occasion showed constant improvement. He always posted better records than the prior season for the four years he was at the institution.
Daniels eventually settled at defensive end after having played several positions in high school and college. The defensive end has been praised for being quick off the ball and knowing how to use his body frame to his advantage. He has received a few recognitions for his gameplay at the NFL’s Green Bay Packers.
Mike Daniels’ Biography
Michael Wayne Daniels Jr. came into the world on May 5, 1989, in Stratford, New Jersey.
During his time at Highland Regional High School, young Wayne played for the school’s football team as running back and defensive tackle. He recorded 41 tackles and 6 sacks in his second year, a tally that only went up after every season, ending with 97 tackles, 12 sacks and first-team all-conference honors for his final year of high school.
Mike who scored 25 touchdowns also threw shot put and discus. For his wrestling endeavors, he was a letterman for three years. He accepted a scholarship from the University of Iowa after turning down Temple University. At Iowa, he sat out his freshman year due to redshirt rules. He finally got his chance in his sophomore season, which he ended with 10 tackles in 13 appearances.
The next season, his defensive game improved remarkably and saw him named the Big Ten co-Defensive Player of the week after his career-best six tackle showing against Ball State. He was an honorable mention on the All-Big 10 team at the end of his junior year. Daniels was pivotal to his team’s play in his final season with the Iowa Hawkeyes. He led the team in tackles for loss and sacks and also garnered 32 tackles via solo effort. He ended the campaign as a second-team All-Big 10 team.
Mike Daniels was brought on to the roster of the Green Bay Packers after they selected him as the 132nd overall pick at the 2012 NFL Draft. Having been recruited as a defensive end, Mike recorded 12 tackles and 2 sacks in 14 games. The following season, he garnered 28 tackles and 6.5 sacks having played two games more than the previous season
The player continued to show marked improvements and on December 2015, he was rewarded with a bumper four-year $42 million. He finished the campaign with a record of 49 tackles and 4 sacks. He ended the campaign on the 95th spot of the NFL Top 100 Players in 2016 and moved up eleven places in the 2017 edition of the list.
At the end of the 2017 season, the defensive end was rewarded with his first Pro Bowl appearance. He replaced the injured Aaron Donald at the 2018 edition of the Pro Bowl.

Michael Daniels was born to his parents, Cariene and Michael Daniels. He is not the only athletic one in his family. He has a younger sibling, a brother, who plays football for the Arena Football League’s Philadelphia Soul. Like Mike, Sean Daniels played for the same high school but opted for Temple University while Michael chose Iowa in his time.
Mike Daniels has been married to his wife, Heaven Daniels since July 12, 2014. Heaven who comes from a large family met Mike while he was studying at the University of Iowa. They clicked immediately and have been together ever since.
Heaven has a B.A in Liberal Arts and Vocal Performance and a Masters in Early Childhood Education. She is also a motivational speaker, a charity junkie, singer, songwriter, blogger, professional makeup artist, and a certified Zumba instructor. She is also a television personality and the host of Fox 11’s Iowa-based TV talk show The Better Half.
Mike Daniels and Heaven’s union has produced three children, two boys, and a girl. The weird part is that all three children share the same birthday of August 3 even though they were all born in different years. As of August 2018, Heaven was pregnant with the couple’s fourth.
