Daniel DiMaggio secured a notable spot for himself in the entertainment industry after he portrayed the fictional character Oliver Otto on the widely acclaimed American show, American Housewife. The young screen star hails from Los Angeles, California, in the United States of America. His parents gave birth to him on the 30th of July 2004. He has two siblings, a sister – Jaclyn Damiggio and a brother – Michael Dimaggio who are doing well in their respective careers.
As for his education, Daniel attended Los Feliz Charter School For the Arts in Los Angeles, California. He started out as a baseball and basketball player before he adopted ballet to fit into his character in American Housewife. As a young boy, he took part in the Los Angeles Marathon and ran 26.2 miles.
Dimaggio’s first paid acting job was a Christmas commercial he did for Honda Accord, wherein he was featured as Pete. He was seen writing a letter to Honda and expressing his gratitude to them for getting his dad a new deal on his Honda Accord. Daniel DiMaggio inherited his acting bug from his parents. While growing up, he had no plan or interest in becoming an actor even though he snagged his first commercial gig at the age of eight. The youngster only developed an interest in the art after his manager, who is also a family friend, encouraged him to pursue acting.
The actor is the last child of entertainment heavyweights – Loretta Fox and Lou DiMaggio. Fox is an accomplished actress famed for starring in Janeane from Des Moines (2012), Blades of Glory (2007) and Going the Distance (2010). A native of Dayton, Ohio, Loretta graduated from Chaminade-Julienne High School, Dayton, Ohio in 1981 and later the University of Dayton, Ohio, in 1984.
The actor’s father, Lou DiMaggio, is a writer, an actor and stand-up comedian as well. He rose to prominence for his recurring role on the universally acclaimed comedy series, Curb Your Enthusiasm. Lou has also written for several popular game shows, including for Win Ben Stein’s Money which earned him an Emmy nomination. Daniel’s paternal grandfather was a U.S Army major. He gave birth to Lou during the time he was serving his fatherland in Germany, precisely in Heidelberg. Lou was, however, raised in New York.
