Andres Arturo Garcia Menendez popularly known as Andy Garcia is a veteran Hollywood film director and actor. The veteran actor has been receiving several awards, nominations, and honors in recognition of his sterling acting career and contributions to Hollywood. In 1986, the New York Film Critics Circle Awards nominated Garcia for Best Supporting Actor for his role in 8 Million Ways to Die. Over a decade later in 1997, the veteran actor received the prestigious Nostros Golden Eagle Awards for Outstanding Performer in Film.

Garcia received his first American Latino Movie Award (ALMA) in 1998 for his outstanding performance in Desperate Measures. The Godfather Part III, one of his notable film performances, earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination and an Academy Award nomination. The Hollywood actor was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role at the 1991 Chicago Film Critics Association Awards.

For his appearance in the 2000 film, For Love of Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story, Andy Garcia received a Golden Award nomination and two Primetime Emmy Award nominations. His superb portrayal of his character in the film also earned him wide praise and acclaim.

In 2002, he was awarded his second ALMA for Outstanding Supporting Actor in Ocean’s Eleven. Garcia’s family began in 1982 when he got married to Marivi Loridi who gave birth to his first child, Dominik Garcia-Lorido, in 1983. Garcia-Lorido took after her father as she is also an actress. In 1988, another daughter was born to the couple whom they named Daniella Garcia.

The award-winning Cuban actor became a father once again in 1991 to a beautiful daughter Alessandra. Andy’s only son, who was named after him, was born in 2002. Garcia being a staunch catholic raised all of his children as Catholics.

The veteran actor is still making waves in the film industry as it has been gathered that he is set to star in the upcoming 2020 film What About Love as Peter Tarlton. Andy Garcia is also featured in two other upcoming films — Words on Bathroom Walls and Big Gold Brick.
